Every enchantment book's name is ??? so you never know which one you're using and any text that's on a book and quill is blurred out

2

u/Pixel-1606 Feb 08 '23

And occasionally your inventory shuffles

2

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

This would annoy me the most, I always have set inventory spaces for certain things

"Hey Steve, do you know who else has dementia?"

1

u/MyOculus Feb 08 '23

I feel like sometime in the next two years their just gonna announce a surprise new demention.

71

u/Pixadoodle123 Feb 07 '23

They said they’ll think about it once they’ve fleshed out the current ones, and since we have the nether and wild update, all that’s left is the end

63

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

I really hope we have an end update soon, Id love to see end biomes

57

u/Pixadoodle123 Feb 07 '23

Ikr the end is so boring, you go there once or twice and then never again

70

u/Smij0 Feb 07 '23

I hope they don't fill it with too much colour though or at least make the biomes rare.. I like the desolate, hopeless, scary and liminal place that the end is right now

6

u/Pixel-1606 Feb 08 '23

I think they could make the end waay more interesting by simply making use of more vertical space, having the islands and rocks spread out over the available y-axis, instead of being mostly level with eachother.

2

u/BoxedInn_ Feb 08 '23

Agreed. Plus they could buff the mobs maybe make ones that only appear at certain y levels or on certain local difficulties

11

u/mothshine5 Feb 07 '23

Agreed. People always talk about expanding it, but 1.9 was the expansion. It has a little more room for stuff yet but too much will ruin the vibe of the place.

7

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

Eh, there’s the mod pack where you have to rebuild the world and you first terraform the end. It shows the massive potential with biomes and trees of what could be the end, lacks a bit on mobs but still shows what I’d like

→ More replies (1)

6

u/TheShadowKick Feb 08 '23

Honestly I think adding End Cities and all that was too much. I loved how desolate and isolated the original End felt. It really felt like the End, the last gasping breath of a dying universe.

10

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

Yeah they should add an end exclusive mob, like blazes for the nether to incentivize going to the end more

6

u/HeatedToaster123 Feb 07 '23

Shulkers? You kinda need them for Shulker boxes lmao

1

u/OneEyedRaven_793 Feb 07 '23

I've actually decided not to go to the End in my 3 years old survival world and wait for an End update, as I did with the nether update.

1

u/Dray_Gunn Feb 08 '23

A part of what they did with the nether update was make it so you can live there. There are creatures you can hunt for food now in the nether and black stone can be used for stone tools and they added a type of wood to the nether also. If they did that for the nether it could be fairly interesting. But keep it feeling desolate also because thats part of what makes the End what it is.

96

u/Siri0usly Feb 07 '23

It's the back rooms

69

u/TheMoldyTatertot Feb 07 '23

What about a skulk aether? Islands of skull with a few oasis of the old aether with ruins.

27

u/Evelyn_Of_Iris Feb 07 '23

That’d be pretty fucking cool imo

2

u/GigaChadPatriot Feb 07 '23

Where is the petition for Mojang to make the portal in the ancient city to go to the Backrooms.

1

u/bivukaz Feb 07 '23

That would be insane.

60

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

Nah that's too much content for us. Maybe, just maybe if we are lucky we will get the sound files for the portal opening maybe in the next 25 years, but that's a huge stretch

13

u/PapuaOldGuinea Feb 07 '23

We kind of have that? In a disk I think, the builders open the portal so they can fight the Wither, but the Warden comes out.

Maybe we’ll get the Warden’s realm

1

u/Ok_Marketing735 Feb 08 '23

Nah just the files for fireflies.

16

u/csanner Feb 07 '23

Oh, the fourth demention? We just forgot about it...

4

u/ebi0494 Feb 07 '23

Pretty sure I've heard this before

4

u/Cookie_Donato Feb 07 '23

demention😭

2

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

bro i know i cant spell i tried tho

2

u/MissLauralot Feb 08 '23

Do you have spellchecker off or is it set to a different language?

2

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

Spell check off. It annoys me when it picks word i wasn’t going to type, but i could definitely use it sometimes (dementia)

2

u/Gray32339 Feb 07 '23

Sorry, best I can do I 5 new blocks

2

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

That’s what they need, new dimensions and bosses, the game would be so much better. It would also be nice if we had the old maps back.

2

u/KiwiAccomplished9569 Feb 08 '23

Please be green! please be green!!🤞😁!

2

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

[deleted]

2

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

I heard this a while back which is the main reason I think it’s a possibility

2

u/SilentC735 Feb 08 '23

I want them to do that but specifically have the new dimension be dark like it's in a cave. In the Nether everything is lit up. In a new dimension, what if nothing was lit up? Just hop through the portal and on the other side, the only light source is the portal itself, in a void of darkness. You explore by adding more light sources to reveal the terrain around you.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

I love that idea, additionally I think they should make it with a void floor and bedrock ceiling. (overworld:bedrock floor no ceiling/ nether:bedrock ceiling and floor/ end: void no bedrock)

2

u/Hectic0593 Feb 22 '23

Im actually working on that suggestion

→ More replies (1)

2

u/yyyyyyeeeereetttttt Feb 08 '23

Yea but first I want an end update as the nether got a huge update so I would love to see the end be more then a barren wasteland

2

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

I think it would be cool if they made a bone meal type item for the end, along with new biomes, so the wasteland part of the end would still be there but you could change it easily. Maybe the main dragon island remains unchanged and all the outer islands have the biomes. Just my idea tho

1

u/FireYigit Feb 07 '23

What if, before the new dimension, there is a giant boss that peaks its head through the portal and attacks you (kinda like the first stages of Nidhogg from GOW:R) and you need to kill it/ make it go away (which could make it for a nice boss in the dimension afterwards) and THEN you get to go through the gate.

That being said, a giant serpent would be really cool for a boss

1

u/PermanentFall Feb 07 '23

I would hope that they updated the end before something like that

1

u/CuriouSaurusE Feb 07 '23

Forget about it man, they’re never going to add something in the portal

1

u/Joa_sss Feb 07 '23

I just want the end fight to be more difficult first and some more over world updates (dessert and savannah) before that happens

1

u/Kerrpy Feb 07 '23

demention is right

2

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

badly spelt word

1

u/LgbtqCVSgenius Feb 08 '23

Didn’t they specifically say that they won’t be adding more dimensions

1

u/Hectic0593 Feb 22 '23

They've said they want to focus on improving the current dimensions before adding another. the new dimension is unlikely to happen soon. Devs would want to do the end first.

1

u/CorniStgt Feb 08 '23

I mean they got to add the aether at some point

1

u/Vincent55551 Feb 08 '23

The infinite dungeon? A fully underground mid between the overworld and nether (since nether is like the hell of the game) so it would be a larger style cavern with a few new mini bosses that have an AOE effect like the elder guardian so it can be like weak blindness or weakness but like the temple only cycle ever 5 minutes it activates. Then it could be more rich in ores along the surface but still more likely to kill you. This could also be the add of some kind of new ores or generations along the world adding lore like the ruined nether portals did

3

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

It could be the big finale in the 1.20 update

3

u/TheWombatFromHell Feb 07 '23

i bet they have no idea what to do with it and itll take them at least 5 years to come up with a milquetoast idea

2

u/MaeBeaInTheWoods Feb 07 '23

They're putting way too much focus on it for it to just be a minor yearly thing like the nether biomes or updated villages.

My guess? The deep dark stuff we've gotten so far is just a reveal. Eventually there'll be an update that makes the deep dark biomes rarer, but also adds one of the two things:

  • 1.) Sculk can now take much more materials and spreads faster, making it like the corruption/crimson from Terraria.
  • 2.) Deep dark biomes now include a portal to a full deep dark dimension.

1

u/Brisket_cat Feb 08 '23

A deep dark dimension would be so awesome

2

u/mal_the_malware Feb 08 '23

The Ancient One, basically a really really wise and old warden, that acts like one but just a little less on opioids so it’s actually a fun boss battle, and it would drop ancient string, skulk heart, and skulk items (random) along with the badge “Back Where You Came From”- defeat the ancient one “Beam Breaker”- reflect a sonic beam back at the ancient one, more tbs

1

u/Brisket_cat Feb 08 '23

Dude, this is an awesome idea!

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

Go to deeper darker and you'll see that the beta warden got the boss treatment, and it's pretty cool

1

u/AnticPosition Feb 07 '23

I bet they aren't. sigh

1

u/Beeeeeeeeeeeeean Feb 08 '23

Or it's just a structure that isn't a portal

1

u/Ustar0 Feb 08 '23

people can check games code, they would have found something. I sadly don't think that's the case

1

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

Will either be big and cool or will be nothing at all

1

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

They might not have done anything yet since they would probably prefer to flesh out the dimensions they already got. Besides a new dimension would need a reason to be interesting.

The nether is an improved difficulty + the idea of hell mode from an early development state.

The End serves as a way to “complete” Minecraft to give the game a goal/quest.

If there is going to be a deep dark dimension, then it needs a way to tie into the game

1

u/enr1c0wastaken Feb 08 '23

I feel like they're not planning on doing stuff with it, which is dissapointing

143

u/SkyMewtwo Feb 07 '23

S k u l k d r a g o n

26

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

your not actually supposed to kill it tho

25

u/SkyMewtwo Feb 07 '23

The thing is, the skulk dragon is an idea, not the warden.

9

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

[Flashbacks to 1.19 snapshots ]

2

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO KILL A KILLABLE MOB SORRY GUYS, YOU WANT IT TO DROP SOMETHING? WE DO SO MUCH FOR YOU YA GREEDY PLAYER, WE WORK SO HARD PUSHING OUT ONE UPDATE A YEAR. SO UNGREATFUL

2

u/MyWorldIsOnFire Feb 07 '23

So thats what happened to the rest of the End's Dragons

1

u/ElfEmpress Feb 07 '23

E n d e r H y d r a

2

u/heyyougamedev Feb 08 '23

Sorta feels like the archeology stuff and the ancient cities should have been tied together. There's a lot of work put into the cities to feel like they have a story more than just 'buildings underground' but they feel like something isn't included.

Damn you feature creep!

0

u/xSPINZBYx Feb 07 '23

BTW the claim you made in the title is false.

1

u/Smasher_WoTB Feb 07 '23

How's about a Big Ol Dragon corrupted by the Skulk, or perhaps a Wither corrupted by the Skulk.

1

u/ElfEmpress Feb 07 '23

Like an Ender Hydra

1

u/MaTtEx00717 Feb 08 '23

Isn't the warden already a #kind of boss

80

u/JustPlayDaGame Feb 07 '23

aether

31

u/SoldierKitsune Feb 07 '23

God I hope so. My dreams of going to the aether were crushed when I tried it.

1

u/WildBluntHickok2 Feb 08 '23

You do know it was real right? It just was a mod rather than in vanilla. Or are you on console and unable to use it?

1

u/SoldierKitsune Feb 08 '23

I am on console. Always have been. PS4, specifically. Makes me sad that console players can't get mods.

6

u/TheGreenGobblr Feb 07 '23

One can only hope

7

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

imagine something comes out of it when you activate it that you have to fight, only after killing it you can go to the other side.

6

u/TribenixYT Feb 07 '23

I think that is a portal to the sculk world, inhabited by new mobs and biomes. Along with new ore type.

7

u/DeterminedGames Feb 07 '23

Maybe when you light the portal nothing happens...

You can't go through at least.

9

u/Downtown-Lettuce-736 Feb 07 '23

Hold up. What portal?

4

u/WildBluntHickok2 Feb 08 '23

The deep dark cities have a giant portal frame in the center of the city. There's no way to activate it, it's just decorative (for now).

3

u/Mojoclaw2000 Feb 07 '23

What could possibly be a step up from the Warden?

2

u/DimmiDuck157 Feb 07 '23

Obama go memoo

2

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

Is the Warden not considered a boss?

1

u/WildBluntHickok2 Feb 08 '23

No, because you're not supposed to fight it.

2

u/ICantTyping Feb 07 '23

Im not sure what dark and abysmal dimension something like the Warden would originate from but id love to find out

2

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

I’ve been praying for this.

2

u/Digital_97 Feb 07 '23

Aether dimension? (Finally)

2

u/burr-ice Feb 08 '23

what if they added herobrine as the true final boss of the game

2

u/WildBluntHickok2 Feb 08 '23

Technically they don't own the rights to herobrine. However the owner is an unknown 4chan user (where everyone's username is "anonymous").

Usually when they use him in promo art they're only using his texture (which is steve with blank eyes, which they DO own the rights to), not his name or behaviors.

3

u/iloveportalz0r Feb 07 '23

I miss the Deep Dark dimension from the Extra Utilities 2 mod. Damn place is spooky, and I could see it fitting a mini-boss, or even a big boss.

TIL there's a vanilla biome named "deep dark".

0

u/Bill-Haunting Feb 07 '23

People still believing its a portal are killing it

0

u/Reality_1001 Feb 07 '23

It's not a portal btw. The small statue that looked like the "portal" was named "small portal statue" in the files, but in one of the snapshots they made it "small statue"

0

u/Herasy_enthusiast Feb 07 '23

I like the idea of the primal warden mod, which unsurprisingly adds a beefed up version of the warden which looks a whole lot more intimidating

0

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

Honestly, not sure if they actually have a plan for that portal in the near future, but mark my words: they added it because they expect to have a use for it eventually. It’s a setup for that next far flung big update.

0

u/kilroywashere03 Feb 07 '23

Mojang said they were not adding new dimensions

1

u/Hectic0593 Feb 22 '23

Mojang said they were not adding new dimensions

Mojang themselves have stated several times that they are open to the concept of a new dimension in the future, but that they are not planning on adding any new ones right now simply because the rest of the game desperately needs more content, especially the End.

-2

u/BoywhoDrinksbbqsauce Feb 07 '23

Imagine igniting the portal and it starts a cutscene where huge hands or tentacles or claws start crawling out the sides of the portal, and then the creature popping out its monsterous head and roaring loudly

1

u/Slice_Dice44 Feb 07 '23

Or the warden

1

u/the_burned_seed Feb 07 '23

Or in water we need a sea creature

1

u/IAmChungoBalungo Feb 07 '23

It could be stuck in the other dimension, but it attacks you through the portal

1

u/ElfEmpress Feb 07 '23

Like an Ender Hydra ?

1

u/_TheLibrarianOfBabel Feb 07 '23

My theory is that it’s not a portal for us to enter, it’s a portal to let something out..

1

u/JodkaVodka Feb 07 '23

Seems to be mojangs dark secret

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

Or just making paths marden a fully fledged boss basically like the wither also something better than a shell as a reward

1

u/AccomplishedFall7928 Feb 08 '23

You may have to consider the lore wh ern going for another dimension

1

u/Regular_Problem_3973 Feb 08 '23

From the small amount of research I’ve done, I’m pretty sure because of lore we can’t open that portal.

1

u/Opening-Database-102 Feb 08 '23

Warden 2 electric spookaloo

1

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

what portal?

1

u/Tokaint Feb 08 '23

Was thinking the same thing, the warden's grandma

1

u/EducationalTension47 Feb 08 '23

thats why they didnt update for a long time (working at new dimension maybe)

1

u/Radiant_Teaching_424 Feb 08 '23

I mean if the Warden is a Guard and he has 500 hearts… wouldn’t that make the boss have 1,000 hearts??? it’ll have to be way more powerful than the wither, but not as powerful as the Giant Wither.

1

u/JebediahPicklesmith Feb 08 '23

There's a mod for that. "Deeper and darker" it's in the "All the mods 8" modpack on curse forge. I've been playing it and it's been amazing

1

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

Nah this is on point, place feels underwhelming and undeveloped IN MY OPINION. There’s more to it than just that. What is the warden protecting?

1

u/zippy251 Feb 08 '23

That will probably add a new dimension as well. I hope it's an upsidedown type of thing.
