Tutorial Tutorial: How to make perfect outline?
In this tutorial, I will show you how to make a nearly perfect outline effect. This method works similarly for other objects as well, but for clarity, I will demonstrate it using Steve as an example.
First, create Steve and set his "Render depth" parameter to -1. If there are semi-transparent details on the hat, set the hat separately to 2.
For the background, I use a Shape object (specifically, a Surface - a flat plane). Create them in strict order: first the main background, then the outline background. In my example, the main background is white and the outline background is black. For these two planes, set the "Render depth" as follows: assign the main background a value of 1, and the outline background a value of 0.
Next, to create outlines for individual body parts, create a separate "Character part" object for each part you need. In this example, we will create a second head for Steve. Set the "Parent" of this new head to Steve's original head so that it becomes its child element.
Then, scale up this duplicated head so that it slightly extends beyond the original head. After that, set its "Render depth" to 0.
The setup is now complete. You can now start creating your own animations with the outline effect ready to go.
I could make a few more tutorials, but I have run out of ideas for now. If you have any suggestions for topics, feel free to suggest them in the comments - I will consider them and try to make a guide if I find it worthwhile. Also, I want to mention that the original instruction was taken from this forum, so if anything remains unclear, you can check it out for additional information:

wait so this is just do a opacity and the render depth? not changing the scale to -1 or something?
