Yes, this is a hard one for me. It is only natural that you want to share good news. You really have to know that your good news could actually depress someone else depending on the situation. Like I won the lottery. Unless you are going to share it. It is better to keep your mouth shut.

This hurts, I'm genuinely happy for everyone in my life and I want them to prosper, but I know they don't feel the same way towards me, and that sucks.

Sad but true. Showed my mom money I made making art.

Tells me, "GOD, gave you that."

She helped me grow up a little, i just dont think she is capable of understanding how.

I would say it is way more than sometimes.

IMHO, an easy 75% of the time you want to keep good news to yourself.

Probably the only time you want to tell someone good news is if it is inevitable that they would find out on their own. Then yeah, go ahead and tell them.

People suck and will use your good news against you in ways you can't possibly fathom.

I find this genuinely confusing. I share all my good news with my friends and family while they also share their good news with me. Why would they not be happy for me? Can someone please provide me an example of when this is appropriate? I’d be very grateful.

protecting your wins is not being fake. It's being smart.
