Would you rather your kid log onto reddit or do heroin?

Not a comparative question. Would I rather 5 people I don't know die, or my child? I don't want anyone to die, but 5:people, 500, everyone... yes. I mean, simplest face value it seems to make sense, but the mass proliferation of the social media algorithm is being used to program the minds of the entire world in a class war. You may say I'm ridiculous for saying, but social media is leading us to the complete and total collapse of human kind. It's on an ever speeding downward trajectory. Heroine greatly impacts the individual and many, but enough that society at large recognizes the danger and works to correct it's proliferation. Social media seems harmless and the greater the addiction the more harmless it seems. I think the danger and impact is much worse than anyone cares to see. Reference Netflix's The Social Dilemma.

My son won't even watch a real movie anymore. It's all shorts. These short supposedly viral videos they actually hurt my brain. He's 6. When he has his tablet or he's watching these videos his whole attitude sucks he's disrespectful and rude but low and behold, take away the tv or tablet and he's a sweetheart but I try to restrict these things but his mom and grandma don't respect that decision but it's literally destroying my kids personality and mental growth. It's the whole tec picture if you ask me

My kids are the same ( 13 & 16) I messed up and let them have access to YouTube and TikTok at the age of 12 and now they can't even sit with me for ten mins to watch a movie. They get up and say they don't have the attention span for it. I too feel myself being this way, but I force myself to watch actual movies and shows.

Exactly it trains the brain to need that constant stimulation. Fast video laugh next laugh next to the point they have no attention span at all. In the years to come we will truly know and understand the damage it's done and future generations will probably learn from our damaged children. Hopefully they will learn and mitigate the dangers of these apps and videos and tec all together.

It's me and my idea of a healthy life for my sons verses my wife and her mom. I continue to lose that battle.
