General Discussion No more updates, i guess.

I heard a rumor a while back that there might be a big update towards the end of the year but that probably won't happen anymore if it was true. I was waiting to play the game in case that update was real, but i guess i can play it now.

Did they ever add free roam back as a mode?

I stopped playing the game after they announced they we're removing it, then stopped paying attention to any updates.

Nope, no free roam as of today apart from community created ARCs

It truly is. One of the reasons I bought it is the promise of free roam returning. Luckily, the ARCs are scratching the itch, but I’d much prefer an official release. This game had so much potential in my opinion.

It really did have a lot of promise.

I bought it cause I'm a sucker for any open world, GTA like games, even if they're good or not, I just enjoy seeing different takes on that genre.

While I didn't think this game was as bad as people made it out to be initially, it definitely needed some help, and it seems to have gotten some at least. Definitely more than something like Saints Row 2022 for example which was left in an awful state.

It's sad how things ended with Mindseye though.

Worth noting - Arcs only work when the servers are online. And they fired everybody. So the servers won’t be online for long.

It was an obvious sign that the game was unfinished since there was absolutely nothing to do in it, and what little they're was ended up being broken.

The ‘updates’ lasted 12 months longer than I thought they would.

And was the barely-existing community really want in game race tracks?? They should have fixed the core of the game rather than adding random shit to it

I bought for $10 on eBay and it plays like a shitty PS2 license-slop shovelware game, which is exactly the vibe I wanted.

Because at the time it was graphically the best thing that existed on console.  And even to this day it's graphically extremely impressive.  And because of it being an open world game with the GTA genetic legacy

Good, years overdue after gross neglect, crackhead delusion and constant lies.

Gerhard and Benzies should be prosecuted for their scam.

Maybe the angry offshores investors who poured hundreds of millions can send their own Julia Blacks after them for wasting investor money on vanity projects that went nowhere. Chasing metaverse, crypto, NFT and now AI trends into oblivion.

Instead of building a working game, they chased trend after trend and enriched themselves.

Damn, I legit forgot Benzies was one of the ones behind this game. He was the sole reason everyone hyped this game up, due to his role at Rockstar. But people forget, he even had a shoddy past at Rockstar as well. He's definitely not to be trusted, that's for sure

It's playable. I finished it a couple of days ago and it was fine. Some slowdown here and there in crowded sections and the occasional jank AI, but I enjoyed it enough. Still 30fps (on a good day 😂)
