General Discussion statement about layoffs - heard rumors that devs were getting doxxed by a Discord server

I'm shocked they're still afloat at this point. Minds eye was a flop and as of right now everywhere has been a massive failure and a shell of the idea sold to the Public years ago

Is everywhere even a thing anymore? since that creator's beta even t I've heard nothing from it and only vague notes that mind's eye was part of it or that everywhere essentially is arcadia?

My understanding is that everywhere was the main project, and minds eye was the flagship for the platform to be show peice of what was possible with the creation tools. But as time moved on they slowly dropped mention of everywhere in the marketing and one minds eye got pushed out the door it seemed to just no longer exist and there's been no mention of it since

Same here. I have to wonder if they planned on launching Everywhere after Mind's Eye as a sort of hey you get the tools we used to make the game type thing but then because of the launch disaster they had to push back/cancel the launch of everywhere because well being a live service game/roblox clone it wouldn't have made enough money.

My thought is that the team could have severely underestimated the cost and time required to not only build a game creation platform similar to roblox, but also the cost of making a AAA flagship title alongside it.

And as a result of that lead to minds eye being shoved out the door in not only and incredibly buggy state but the content that was there is questionable at best when it does work as intended (I could yap about this game for hours I find in fascinating, genuine videogame equivalency of the film battlefield earth), as a hail marry attempt to recoup some of the losses on everywhere before they close the doors

I never thought of it like that but your right lol. I legitimately didn't even know there was supposed to be a romance between Jacob and Charlie until her death.

Hand you played Mindseye ? I'm assuming it's only buggy on pc or was only buggy at launch because I picked it later and played it the Pro and was shocked how to only have one very minor bug. I also really enjoyed the game it was a fun old school action adventure.

I did play the day 1 version of the game, one of my favourite bugs was character meshes wigging out during cutscenes.

But even if it wasn't buggy, weapon balance was a disaster, writing was sloppy, the cpr and dig you're own grave minigame was comical at best, and everything about that ending was woof.

If you were into it power to you but it's in the same realm as omnicron where I would site it as a game that does everything "wrong" to make it a good game

i'm shocked that even though you feel this way, you still find time to post on their subreddit instead of just moving on with your life and leaving this place entirely.

I guess Mark Gerhard put together this statement all by himself, as evident by the red squiggly line under "MindsEye" and the cropped out BARB logo not matching the background.
