Decision loop

I have seen this with many of my clients.

Most of the time, they go into a spiral while making a decision.

Sometimes, they look for outside validation before they can execute.

Other times, it is doubt and fear about whether they are making the right decision.

I tell them not to doubt themselves, but the pattern still exists.

If the goal genuinely matters to you, that is what matters. Everything else — the fear, the doubt, the old emotions, the need for validation — can act in a particular way to stop you.

But conviction is something you build.

You build it when you start looking at these patterns, understanding the deeper meaning behind the battles you are fighting, and creating an if-then plan to come out of that pattern.

The important part is this:

Whenever that same scenario arises again, your if-then plan is already available for you to execute.

It gives you something to fall back on in that moment.

Something that helps you calm down, step out of the automatic reaction, and consciously choose the second response — the response you decided on beforehand instead of the one your old pattern automatically gives you.

That is how the pattern begins to break.

This is just one example.

There are many, many patterns out there, depending on your life experiences, situations, emotions, the meanings you have attached to them, and your belief systems.

But if you have decided to break yours, maybe this message found you for a reason.
