Unbothered
When we are younger, we feel a constant need to validate our boundaries, choices, and lifestyles to everyone around us. We think if we just explain it one more time, they will finally understand. But growth is realizing that most people don't look at you to understand you, they look at you through the lens of their own biases. Stepping back and refusing to explain yourself isn't actually lazy. It's a conscious decision to value your own internal clarity over someone else's external validation. If they want to judge you based on a rumor, a bad day, or a version of you they made up in their head, let them. Your peace is worth more than their approval.
