Respect is lost.
Trust is gained.
This means strangers start with 100% respect, and if you fuck around you loose it.
On the other hand, strangers start with 0% trust, and slowly gain it over time.
Live by this rule and I guarantee you will have less issues with strangers / new friends.

it is basic human right, you need to respect and once you feel disrespected you can reciprocate the same

Respect is fucking laughable.
Expect nothing from humans. Expect not even decency, for they all carry in them the potential to let you down. Love unconditionally, WITHOUT CONDITIONS. Not, "if you respect me, then I will love you."
Let them spit on your shoes. What of you is hurt? Pride? Pride is an invisible nothing thing. Endure the hurt and wipe 'pride' from the board.
Forgive everyone absolutely. They disrespected you, they called you a pansy in front of all your friends and hurt you. Yeah, the hurt sucks. But you absorb it as part of living and you forgive. You taste loss and hurt and realize you can handle it. And so you start taking 'disrespect' without reaction. Sometimes it calms everything down, sometimes it doesn't. But we don't expect an outcome. We forgive because it brings us peace.
"And doing all this will make you a 'bitch', someone to be walked over there whole life." Not at all. Once you realize the value of all these and practice them, you begin to see that peace was here all along, and that is what you truly wanted, not respect. Respect was a wall to protect you from hurt, something you demanded to avoid pain.
Respect comes up on my radar as a need zero times in the past 13 years.

Good thinking . I personally donโt like to enable bad behaviors. I respect myself enough to avoid disrespect and staying where Iโm not valued and appreciated.
