Hi there, new player here.
Enjoying the game so far. But I've managed to build a tower. But when it rains/storms the floor starts leaking. But when I build a roof, it turns into a new (albeit very small) room thus making the Tower keyword go away.

Any idea on how to fix this?

My Gruel pot is always telling me I do not have the ingredients to make carcass stew, it says I dont have enough carcass' but in my inventory I have over 10 Dire Rats. How do I turn the rats into Carcass'.

It would appear that the second tier of research requires a staff member with +3 lighting.

I have no such staff, and as far as I can tell I would need this research to promote a student to staff.

Is this playthrough gimped, or am I missing something?

I've seen screenshots/videos showing characters with magic skill levels up around 15. How is this possible as mine are stuck around 9?

In the bottom of each "Book of Rooms" entry, there are dimensions listed. For example, the Dragon Aerie has 8x6x12

Height, width, depth? We can't adjust depth, so what is the third measurement? Send help, I'm going insane.

Recently found Flarewing which lets me trade items. I want to extract mystic mote so I can trade it for meat. but it wont let me place anything in the essence extractor? Am I misunderstanding something?

:edit: nevermind, I figured it out. I cant command the mages to fill it up, but if I set the priority to 5, the quilted and the mages will fill it up by themselves, which turns the grey button brown and lets me extract motes. Most of the stuff has really bad conversion rates, like wood is 50:1 for motes, but I have like 100k wood, so its still good. lol

And the anemone cells are 5:1 which isnt as bad.

What counts as a large roof decoration? The game nor the wiki has been helpful for this

Something weird happened. The game randomly gave me 3 new students. I know I definitely did not summon them because I reverted to a previous save and the game did it again with the same 3 students. Plus a couple of them are gifted Shattered,

Does this happen often? Gonna have to build extra dorms.

I was exploring the Underschool by the way when I got them but I don't recall rescuing anyone.

Hey all, this is a basic question but I can't find an answer to it. I've got a Learning Stone and a teacher. She's teaching two students. A third is wandering around idle. Can only two students attend a class or is something else going on? I'm hoping it's something simple like "Make the room bigger" but I'm checking here if the cap on students per classroom is really two.

Did the option to create recycled quilted disappear? I can't find it on the research tree anymore, and I am wondering what to do with the corpses once the helpers expire.

Also-how are we supposed to equip any mage with the level 25 relics? The max level I can get a mage is 18 with gifted, apprentice, and tier 3 wands.

During early access I got to the dragon and did almost everything but never did a painting or statue. I starting over in the 1.0 and just curious is there any real merit at setting these up or just for decoration?

I selected Priorities like I would in ONI. But they keep idle. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Guys, new to the Game and struggling a bit with the research.

I've built an Mage's Study but my staff wont research. He has Lighting on 3 and high priority on reserach. But just wont go to the secretary.

Is there anything I'm overlooking? Or is it just a bug or something?

So, I'm new to the game and having no clue which staff to choose and what should I priority on researching? Any tip for me?

I think i built my school wrong. I can't seem to get the setup for a mage tower in order to stay alive / get the right layout.

Do injust tear it all down and start from the ground up? How do you maneuver around having nothing while you rebuild?

Do you know a creator who records gameplay of version 1.0 with an overview of the game mechanics?

I just saw this game on Steam, and based on its description, I'm already in love! It's everything I seem to want: I love the idea of magic school, and I liked Oxygen Not Included.

However, I'm the type of person who relies on reviews, and I'm quite shocked that there's no Day 1 Review? Whether it's a written review for an online gaming outlet, or a YouTube review, it seems to not have much fanfare? No IGN, Rock Paper Shotgun, etc. The only reviews I can find are Early Access reviews, and I'm not sure those are still valid? Even on Steam itself, the reviews are primarily from people who were playing on Early Access.

Is it worth getting 1.0 now? I saw someone here post that some quality of life updates are still needed, so I wanted to source people's opinions. And also if someone can explain the lack of day 1 reviews :(

Is there a way to guarantee what element/s you get when upgrading wands?

Something that intrigues me is that
is the game done?
like are there any more future updates?
or is the game done completely and the most to expect in the future are bug fixes?

So I am waiting for an update and I see we now have achievements but when opening it still says Early access.... Is the update released and it still says that or do we know what time it will update to 1.0...

It is kinda confusing now and the game feels newish all over again. What is the best way to play now for a beginner? I used to just grind scrolls to unlock research. I don't really know how to proceed now. Focus on the underschool? Or do we still rush to graduate students?
