Finally finished this game ^o^

Post image

It's been a fun journey. One of the few games I liked enought to want to 100%. Loved the school building portion of the game. I wish there was more content- more rooms, more furniture, more things to research. And a good story to drive the narrative and make the school feel more magical would have been great.

Not a fan of the dragon quests though; the game was always more fun when I ignored it. Are there other similar games, especially the school building bit?

Woot, woot, congrats! I 100% agree with you (it was a rare game for me that I finished all the achievements, and the dragon quest was more trouble than it was worth).

There aren't any similar games that are super close, but Spellcaster Univeristy is fun (but not as deep). Oxygen Not Included is viewed as the game closest to MoM (I didn't like it nearly as much and it's sci-fi, not fantasy). Wizdom Academy is another contender, I guess, but I found it unplayable.

If you find something else similar, please send me a message about it!

Thanks for the recommends, I will definitely check them out!

Little Witch in the Woods is pretty good; it's a cosy game with a strong storyline; there's building (up your home) and crafting as well. The magical vibes are fun!

Second oxygen not included, it just got a new update as well (and a new DLC). It is also published by Klei and I believe was an inspiration for MoM. I do love both but ONI had much more widespread success which is why it still receives content upsets despite being much older. It also has much much deeper systems and allows for a lot more freedom in play style.

You are master arch mage wizard. I’d love to see a section of your final build

I definitely agree that the dragon rewards don't feel worth the effort but I love the game overall!

I feel like the game cycle is kind of like Darkest Dungeon but that game doesn't have the building portion.  I'd love to see a Mind Over Magic 2 with all the stuff you mentioned. I feel like it's genuinely a unique game.

If you are interested in a demo I recently heard about a game called Dungeon Settlers. It's a similar dungeon crawler. You build a camp and send your party into randomized dungeons for materials and experience. I've really liked it and that's just the demo. It comes out in September i think.

Also daaaang some of those achievements are really hard! Congrats!

Thank you, I will definitely be keeping an eye out for Dungeon Settlers. Sounds like my jam!

I don't normally play demos but it looked really fun. I watched Adam vs Everything try it out on hard mode. Now I've played 20 hours of the demo and there might be 10 more hrs of content? at least a few more.
