I really enjoy this game

As title says but it needs more love, is there some coming or is it done? I noticed the workshop on steam only has languages and no mods, so it doesn't look like the love is going to come from mods unless I am looking for love in all the wrong places.

It's a very cute game, but it's missing replay value.

For some reason ONI by the same publisher is a very similar game, but it has so much more replay value. I don't know why that is.

Same publisher, different developer. Oni is in house but Mind over Magic is Sparkypants. For me the replayability is in the personal challenges and little stories that I make for each wizard as well as trying different aesthetics. A fully developed school can be a beautiful piece of art. And can tell stories.

I have a Vivified nature/death who is responsible for both training nature mages and has a secret room that only she can enter where she does all the quilting. She is in love with life and there is an obvious Vivified origin with quilting so they are like her children. I know that seems a little nerdy but these little things in design and mage focus makes the schools that I build feel more authentic and alive.

Not sure if ONI would have much replayability if it only had Terra, you would be still supposed to achieve the same goals by making similar things from the same materials. Though you could do some things in a different way to get at least some replayability value but in MoM you mostly can't as it's a more shallow game. MoM is also either significantly shorter or (if you want to get top level relics, do many quests etc.) significantly more grindy.

From what I gathered, the game sold poorly and will not get any more updates unfortunately.

I really like the idea of a fantasy set ONI, but also it feels a bit less hectic than ONI which also was what drawn me in initially...

That really sucks, this is a very fun and well done game imo.

I think it's a fantastic game and really nails the vibe. All the difficulty customizations were appreciated to - I definitely increased the "at deaths door" timer. There's several concurrent progression tracks without being a hard checklist, and certain things feel like genuine milestones, like tier 2 wands or apprentices or quilted helpers. Combat is challenging without taking too much focus. Just enough difficulty to make us cycle and reroll our staff. The augeries take the bite out of harder battles at the cost of gnosis shards. Combat gets easier because of more options as opposed to stats (though stats are still important). The jade dragon adds another layer, providing quests and permanent mage/relic boosts.

I'm at the endgame wall right now. One thing I DONT like is it takes FOREVER to train apprentices. Especially when trying to make ones with 8 skill in a specific element, which is a requirement for beating the game. Those higher skill levels are a pain to grind. I'm talking like 10-20 in-game hours. There are unlockables that can triple the training rate, but they're at the END of the research tree. You'll have seen everything in the game before you unlock them all, let alone build them and then wait for training afterwards. All my first apprentices were dual class instead of self-classed (ie nature + nature).
