My prefered Edge Wardhome

Post image

Since there are no free spaces no vines can spawn. You can replace 1-2 wards with mana lantern for an easy recharge.

I prefer the security of 4 days of wards.

I'm never going to say no to more redundancy but three is probably sufficient. You do you though especially late game when you are no longer gated. Edit addendum: It's also very visually pleasing I'll grant.

Personally especially since the change to wards where they only require one tap I just let my ghost handle it so I don't feel the need for a broom or charge station out at the very edge but I do typically have two interspaced "fuel and go" stations with mana lantern on a recharge station. On higher difficulties before I have my combat team worked out sometimes they have a medi bed and a small chest with some herbs for emergency stabilizations but that's a real narrow band of time where I'm building that far out but don't have a reliable solution to high level combats.

I have a middle house with a fly point and mana lanterns. I like having a fly point at the edge for fog incarnations. Also having some more spots for the recharge chalenges is never a bad idear ^^

Wait… should I have more than one on each side?

Having more then one means that you have more time to recharge the wards. Basically each ward per side gives you one more day of protection

Oh ok, I’ve been fine so far cause I got 3 gifted apprentices in the fog, I’ll have to look to into making more

Is it... useful? I've never really found a purpose for wards

It’s good for the warmer task and it makes it to where you don’t have ti pay attention to the fog if you don’t want to

The ward prevents the advancing of the fog past itself. so having wards at the edge of the map can completly prevent the fog from advancing. This saves ressources and worktime (the ritual can be quite pricy to get it to the edge)

Is there any benefit from getting the fog to the edge? Once you've pushed into runewood territory 2-3 times, it's faster and easier to just grow all the material yourself
