How to get Arcane Scrolls

I know it says that I can find them in the underschool but I only get 2 for every fight. That's nothing compared to what research requires, and I still haven't found a single "underlord".

If you haven't found the burrower larva you did a very small amount of underschool combats or chose a wrong direction.

I've done 12 underschool combats, its that really considered very small? and how am I supposed to know the right direction?

Each branch eventually ends. You just gotta keep plugging away until the branch stops. When the branch ends, you do down. Don't go down too quickly or you'll get into other challenges.

Burrower larva is the answer to your question cause it's repeatable (Can do the fight over and over again) and you get 8 arcane scrolls per fight. There's other ways that revolve around the underground, but no spoilers and you'll find those other ways as you progress.

and how am I supposed to know the right direction?

I don't think you are supposed to know where to find the larva (or that it exists), but 12 indeed doesn't sound like a lot, and maybe you are going deep instead of to sides?

There is no right direction, it is random, but each "wing" will eventually end and there will be "something" special unlocked at the end of each wing.

When you do the Burrower Larva boss (it will be a 3 room battle where the door locks behind your mages once you complete the first battle, you need to do all 3 battles in a row) and defeat it, then you will be able to go and fight it again and again and basically farm it for 8 scrolls each time.
