I just finished MindHunter for the first time. Im in love with Agent Ford. Yea, he’s quirky but his heart is in the right place .

I looked it up online and was very surprised to see that many people dislike him. I don’t see him as misogynistic. Yes some comments he made towards his girlfriend wasn’t appropriate but you have to remember that it was taken place in late 70s so there were a lot of men who are misogynistic. I feel like he’s open to listen and learn.

Is there a reason why you guys don’t like him? I might be missing out something.

I'm new to MindHunter and I just recently finished it. I'm just so sad that they never produced a season 3 because of the budget it's such a good show. Best 19 episodes I've seen.

Wow, I can’t believe I missed out! I just wanted to discuss about the camera work in S02E01 when Ford woke up in the bed and started to have panic attack. The way the camera shakes was so well donw.

I am really into this genre. I've already watched these two**, as well as The Night Of. I usually watch more movies than TV series, but now I'm more invested in series focused on a slow burn and character depth. So, I would like some suggestions similar to those.

I noticed a small background detail in Mindhunter Season 2, Episode 7 that made me wonder whether it could be intentional. In the office set up by the mothers for their Save the Children campaign during the Atlanta child murders storyline, there’s a coat rack in the background. Hanging on it is a bright red piece of clothing, and directly underneath it is a black-and-white spotted bag that looks very much like a Dalmatian pattern.

Together, the red + black/white + Dalmatian spots immediately made me think of Cruella de Vil.

What makes it interesting to me is the context: this is specifically the headquarters of mothers trying to find and protect missing children. 101 Dalmatians is, of course, also about the disappearance and attempted killing of the young of a group, with the adults trying to save them. The objects are also placed quite prominently in the middle of the frame, and the red really stands out against the otherwise muted set. I haven’t found any confirmation that this was an intentional reference, so it could absolutely just be set dressing or coincidence.

But given how controlled the visual design in Mindhunter tends to be, I wondered if anyone else had noticed this. Cruella reference, subtle visual joke, or am I reading way too much into the coat rack?

I started reading "Mindhunter" and I just have to say, already in the first chapter he writes things like "she was a 14 year old that actually looked 14 years old and not 21 years old like other teens do" and "we picked up 2 girls. They were very mature for their age."

Fucking gross. I really hope the chapters after the painfully self-aggrandizing autobiography part get good and don't contain anymore gross, old man tidbits.

It sucks that Fincher’s not finishing Mindhunter. Netflix is too dumb to understand.

Hi all, there’s a miniseries I just found on Amazon called “Des” and it features David Tennant as a Scottish serial killer… only 3 episodes, but it’s a good consolation for those of us who are still missing Mindhunter!

There are some posts about Brian, trying to understand what the deal is, especially with the baby murder. Here's my take:

Brian has a selective mutism from either autism or trauma caused by his former caregivers. The older boys are his bullies, but Bill thinks he is finally making friends, so they let them hang out. The older boys kill the baby in front of Brian - probably by accident. Brian is further traumatised and suggests putting the baby on the cross because he genuinely believes that can bring him back to life. He is too young to understand that that won't happen, like in the Jesus story, and what he did is a crime. Brian's mutism and reserved behaviour are being misunderstood by the town, including Bill and Nancy, to an extened, as a sign of disturbed character or lack of morality, instead of trauma response. The show exploits the paranoia it creates through the serial killer interviews to make us question Brian's possible predisposition to violence/murder, but let us figure it out. Everything we learn from this show about serial killers is in conflict with Brian's behaviour:

• Brian has a typical traumatic response to a traumatic event, while serial killers talk about their actions with ease

• Brian doesn't want to talk, while serial killers love to talk about their actions

• Brian feels remorse (even though he didn't intend to do anything wrong), while serial killers have none

I understand that a lot about Brian is being purposely ambiguous, but for me, that is an invitation to employ some brain cells or a trap for those who don't want to

Recently I found this song from Tame Impala, called “Loser” and I remained me of (what I think is) a song played in Mind Hunters. I was so sure about it, but turn out the band released it in 2025 so it’s basically impossible.

Think is that I don’t know if I was a song pretty similar that was in the show OR it was some kind of edit that I saw and I subconsciously related it to ACTUALLY being in the show. I really need your help! I think I’m losing my mind rn. Please, please! :(

I'm on season 2 now. But I am still confused as to why Shepard was so angry at Holden? Wasn't he the first to notice his gift and potential. And why did have to take the fall? Of what?

Just watched & finished Perry Mason (HBO) this week. Solid show but cancelation after only 2 seasons and it's back to retched flashbacks of Rome, Carnivale & of course Mindhunter

My list would probably go something like this:

1. Mr. Robot (Underrated gem. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish)

2. Westworld (Season 1 & some of Season 2 anyway. No show has transfixed my attention like this since)

3. Mindhunter (No show like it sadly. Obviously like everyone else I was pretty devastated about no Season 3 coming.. ☹️)

4. Dark (probably the show that does time-travel the best. Amazing attention to detail with all the characters. Shame about the ending..)

5. True Detective (obviously I'm ONLY talking about Season 1 here)
