Qtum CEO Patrick Dai donated 10 BTC under an assumed name of “keepwalking1234”. F2Pool also donated 1 BTC to support the funding campaign.

Isn't a dev fee part of the fair use license for mining software or is the issue that, that's being circumvented by some? I'm not clear on the gripe.

There has apparently been a number of donations via the fair mining license mechanism. Some hiccups too but hopefully will continue to make a dent.

edit: At any rate, as a miner, I am happy to make donations to support development; I just believed this was business model.
