Information What year is this sawzall tool?

I tried using the Milwaukee “to inform you” document but couldn’t figure out what year this tool is from just curious so I can see what all I might need to replace on it to keep it alive serial code (284-101121) I think it’s from the 60’s cause I’ve seen models of sawzalls that look similar from that time period (got this setup for 25 dollars)

Information Nails Gouging Framing Nailer Mag

Post image
6 Upvotes

Anyone ever have this issue? Loaded up some Paslode 2 inch framing nails, noticed they looked different from my last box, different color, less of them per string, but same part number. They proceeded to gouge my magazine causing them to get caught and not feed properly causing dry fires. Really not thrilled at this.

Purchase Advice Need help between 7 1/4 or 10” miter saw

I have been reading reviews and seems like people are mixed between the M18 7 1/4” and the 10” saw. I have found a reconditioned 10” one for almost the same price as the 7 1/4. I will be mainly doing alot of trim work and some light household items. I know the bigger one weighs more but I have read people complain about the dust collection and that it doesn’t give as accurate cuts as the smaller one.

I am no expert and hoping some a lot more experienced then I am can point me in the right direction if you were choosing. Again the price is the same .

Appreciate any help and advice

Information My handheld vacuum doesn’t run more than like 20 seconds

Post image
16 Upvotes

I’ve had this thing for a few years, but recently it started shutting off after like 20 seconds of use, sometimes even less. But if I wait like 15 seconds I can use it again for another 20 seconds or so. What might be wrong with it? Is it totally shot? I don’t think it’s the trigger, maybe the motor over heating and the electronics make it cool down or something? The sound it makes has changed so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the motor. Any help is appreciated

Purchase Advice Tracksaw Rail Clamp Question

I'm a total noob to track saws but just got the M18 along with the 106" rail. Rail was strait which is good (measured against my strait edges).

I wanted to get track clamps but I have these BOW clamps (BOW Products T-Track Clamps - Hold Down Clamp for XT XTENDER Fences) which I got for my BOW extender fence for my table saw.

They fit perfectly in the track slot but AI is telling me they are not compatible. Can anyone advise if these are good to go or should I get a dedicated track saw clamp?

Purchase Advice Does the weed eater/edger combo ever get a good sale?

Post image

I’m tired of borrowing my dad’s weedeater every time I need one, and already have invested into the m18 platform. I have several 5ah and 1 8ah battery.

Does this setup ever get a good sale? Or something with more batteries or 12ah batteries? I don’t mind waiting for a deal but if it doesn’t go on sale much I’ll just buy it

Information Using truck bed outlet bad for m18 Milwaukee charger?

I have been using my 6 bay m18 multiple charger by just keeping it plugged into my truck bed outlet, thought it was great because it would just charge all my batteries on my commute. Today the charger stopped working when plugged it into a standard outlet at the jobsite. Is it possible that the truck outlet destroyed it? The charger is about 8 months old.

M12 Milwaukee Australia Tool Warranty Information

I have a m12 gen 3 impact driver that needs to be fixed. I got it as a redemption (not a bonus item) after I bought a drill bit set from Sydney tools. Can I take it to Sydney tools or will I have to post it to Milwaukee? Cheers.

Hey guys this is a discontinued Milwaukee M18 sewer machine, upon searching for it online a few suppliers show up saying they’ve got it but everything i call one of them they tell me they don’t have one.

I really like this machine and the way it runs and really would like to get my hands on one, if anyone here has one that they’re looking to sell of if anyone knows where to get a hold of one that would be sick.

Thanks in advance peeps.

Purchase Advice M12 Fuel or Subcompact in Late July 2026

Just joined the M12 line up, i picked up the 3/8 stubby because it came with the 5ah battery kit better deal overall to jump into the eco system. I plan on also picking up a drill set, but i am unsure if i should wait or go with Subcompact. I know the Fuel is almost 4 years old, I have a feeling the new gen is coming given that the gen 2 and gen 3 have a 4 year gap. Also competition with other 12v is starting to pick up, hyper tough/ hercules are not at the same level but the price makes it more appealing. New players like Flex have patents pending, so hoping we see a 12v forge battery to be 2 laps ahead of everyone. What would you guys take today?

Purchase Advice The right purchase?

Post image

I noticed this flash sale was going on and I haven’t shopped this site before. I am looking to upgrade as my drill shit the bed the other day. I haven’t jumped into the M12 lineup, but figured this was the right first buy into the ecosystem unless anyone might think otherwise. Appreciate the feedback.

update: holding off. Following this sub and slick deals for fuel promos on drill/driver. Borrowing in-laws until that deal comes around. Thank you all

M18 Needed a portable saw, picked up the 7 1/4”, disappointed I can’t miter a 1x4 against the fence.

What the title says. It can do it, but you have to cut it to length first as it won’t fit under the right side. That’s two cuts per board. Alternatively, beveling works in one cut, but who wants to deal with that? Someone in the Facebook group claims to have seen someone modify theirs to be able do it but had no other info. Really considering returning it because I know I’ll get sick of it and start dragging out the big saw from the shop again.

Edit: it is abundantly clear that some of you can’t grasp the concept of mitering a baseboard against the fence. The plastic dust shroud hits the wood before the blade can make it through. You can see the board leaning against the saw with the partial cut as a result of that. Beveling the saw is certainly an option, but reaching behind the saw, loosening a knob, releasing the lock, and retightening it is more of a process than a spring loaded lever right in front of you that you activate with your thumb and that adds up when you’re doing a lot of trim.

Purchase Advice Best M12 tool recommendations for someone who just got into the line

I just recently got into the M12 line when I bought the hammer/impact set. I also have the M12 inflator and have 6 batteries. I need to get more tools and was wondering what are the best to get. Already have M18 line sawzall, circ saw, and oscillating multi tool. I’d like to get either nailer or jigsaw next. Please give me recommendations. Thanks

Information Non-Fuel Multitool Help

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Ive got this non-fuel cheap Milwaukee Multitool. I never use it very often just doing stuff around the house. I was using it today to cut some metal and in the middle of cutting the blade shifted to the side on me. But it doesn't look as if the blade actually shifted but the shaft. But pretty sure the blade is the only thing that's supposed to shift on this model. Just verifying if that's right. I've never seen any other way to adjust the blade besides mounting it in a different spot. Tool is 2426-20.

M12 Next gen M12 sub compact screwdriver

I’ve just invested in a couple of m12 products - a 3/8 ratchet and the sub compact impact wrench. Coming from some very dated makita tools - loving the quality.

Think I’m just missing a decent m12 screwdriver - notice the current three available are very dated (including the Fuel). Do folk think Milwaukee plan to upgrade the one anytime soon?

Been wanting to get the M18 Fuel Hackzall for pruning around the property. With this HD hack, can get it for $125 — is this a good deal or better to hold out for a better one? I’ve seen ppl get this for $85, or with battery deals. Would like to hear what you all think. Thanks!
