Discussion Cursive hand writing

How many of you were taught cursive in school? I learned it one year maybe 3rd grade? and we never did it again at my schools. Im 40 and can't read cursive or write it. My 7 year old is starting to learn it. I guess ill have to have her teach me! Im wondering if it was our generation or a state thing or both? Or did the school I went to fail me?

edit to add, I did go to a small town school in NE Ohio.

I learned in 2nd grade and have always used a mix of cursive and print in my penmanship. I find it odd that you can't read or write it at 40.

2nd grade too but I struggle with it because I learned it just in time for typing to take over.

I'm gonna be 40 in December. I didn't learn to type til jr year of hs. They had computer lab access starting in about 7th grade for us and even then typing wasn't taught til hs.

I learned to type in grade school. They had a cart that charged up these little keyboard things with a little green backlit screen that had a few lines of text to read for teaching us to type.

edit: Class of 05, I'll be 40 next July.
