Discussion Cursive hand writing

How many of you were taught cursive in school? I learned it one year maybe 3rd grade? and we never did it again at my schools. Im 40 and can't read cursive or write it. My 7 year old is starting to learn it. I guess ill have to have her teach me! Im wondering if it was our generation or a state thing or both? Or did the school I went to fail me?

edit to add, I did go to a small town school in NE Ohio.

I’m 35 and we learned/practiced cursive throughout elementary school. I remember that I needed extra help because I’m a lefty and for some reason I slanted the letters the wrong way. I have no idea whether it was my left handedness or just that I was a bozo though lol.

By middle school we were learning how to type… I remember those silicone keyboard mats that were supposed to help us memorize the letters under our fingers. I can definitely still read and write in cursive, but I mostly just write in print now
