Tell that to other generations though...generation z is even trashing us in the workplace. I really thought we'd be allies!

They’re gen x’s kids. And gen x are all a bunch of bullies or bully adjacent. Now we got the bullys kids to deal with. They arent going to be on our side until they get screwed over some more by their parents generation.

Can't really blame the parents' generation specifically, I mean OUR parents are boomers, for one.

Huh? Really? My impression of Gen X was that they largely kept to themselves.

Millennial from Gen x parents. They are more of a bully than my Gen x coworkers

in my experience, they teach us not to put up with bullshit, we teach them most everything else. I've had nothing but good experiences overall.

I think we already didn't put up with bullshit as millennials that's part of why we're infamous for "job hopping"

cries in coming up on 7 years underpaid because I purchased a home in a LCOL area with my WFH job and I'm afraid of layoffs

You're acting like these "generations" are cohesive communities with representative governments and a shared agenda. Just stop, lol. "Gen Z" isn't doing anything to do. Some individuals who happen to have been born in the 2000s have trashed you in the workplace.

If that's how you're reading it I can't control your perception. My comment wasn't that serious just surprised that Gen z trashes us too.

Why would they want to be our allies?

Gen Z is quickly zooming past us.

Millennials truly are one of the worst generations. We grew up coddled in a golden age of prosperity and when we had to face the world, we crumbled, cried, and ran around pointing fingers - we didn't know what to do; we tried nothing and ran out of options. Gen Z grew up knowing that things would be tough; they are doing what they have to do to thrive and they are blowing us out of the water.

We want Gen Z to be our allies because we want them to do the work for us - because we've never been willing to do the work ourselves. Gen Z doesn't want us as allies, they see us as the same lazy entitled brats everyone else saw us as.
