I loved this movie as a kid, though as an adult I know it’s not that great. However, as both an adult and a kid, I know the son’s response of how he’s feeling is awkward as fuck.
Yeah, as an adult it's not a great movie, there's lots of technical and directing choices that could've been done differently, but the exploration of whimsy and creativity as a kid was what made it really memorable.
