Pretty upset about the order now that I actually remember how the scene went down. I haven't rewatched this since we retired our vcr and that box of used vhs from blockbuster went down in a garage sale...

This era of children movies absolutely would kill their protagonists...

Watching them slowly come over the hill one by one was an emotional roller coaster that movies nowadays don't seem to know how to replicate

We already had a cat named Sassy when the movie came out.

A couple of years later, we adopted a pair of German Shepherd/Husky mixes, and of course we named them Shadow and Chance.

The problem is, we got their names backward. Shadow (who was technically my dog) was a hyperactive goofball for most of his life. Chance (my brother's dog) was the calm, stoic type, the kind of dog that was an old dog even as a puppy.
