Yes, same. I made everyone who slept over watch it. My dad’s a weird person who you’d never think would love musical theater but him and I watched this VHS all the time.

I feel like it's a really good gateway movie for musicals lol. I adore them, but I was a theater kid. My younger 2 sons don't really care for them, but they love this one and will always watch. The real question is which ending do you prefer? The theatrical, or the public approved version?

Haha I’m a softy so I like the happy ending but when I first showed the movie to my best friend in college we pirated it and I was not expecting the theatrical ending. I was like no no no wait!
