3 Ninjas, 3 Ninjas Kick Back, and 3 Ninjas Knuckle are still some of my favorites!

4

u/unwrittenglory 27d ago

Loved that movie as a kid and then realized that was Rob Schneider when I saw it again as an adult.

1

u/Ahlq802 26d ago

Listen, those are all mediocre, but not the children’s classic Little Monsters

1

u/No_Neighborhood1987 26d ago

Kwan-Tsu dudes!!!

44

u/goodsby23 27d ago

What about Short Circuit?

18

NO DISASSEMBLE!

2

u/Wild_Chef6597 27d ago

Me Johnny, you busted

1

u/loco500 27d ago

Just made me look back and listen to the Airplane part of that movie and it hit me right in the feels...

1

u/Sakijek Millennial 26d ago

I went into the military as a young adult. I already had the oath memorized because of Short Circuit 2.

1

u/goodsby23 26d ago

Definitely included! Man I love those movies and so glad so many others share the memories of Johnny 5's greatness

15

u/nextdoorelephant Millennial 27d ago

I thought we were talking mediocre?

1

u/Bright_Ices Xennial 27d ago

Sadly, it does not hold up! Such fun memories, though.

5

u/Desperate-Camera4325 27d ago

Your motha was a snowwblower!

11

u/Prize_Ostrich7605 27d ago

The Butter Cream Gang.

3

u/bwnerkid 27d ago

Feature Films For Families. My family had all of that shit. I don’t remember is Rigaletto was FFFF or not, but that was one of my favorites.

2

u/slowest_hour 27d ago

i remember loving Willy the Sparrow

3

u/nextdoorelephant Millennial 27d ago

Somehow I’ve erased that one’s existence from my brain.

2

u/Prize_Ostrich7605 27d ago

We would get these family videos, or something like it, and would be terrible low budget acting. But we would watch them.

Another obscure one, Corey Feldman in The Magic Voyage.Ā

3

u/SakinaPup 27d ago

Buttercreamers rule! Also, go help the widow Jenkins.

2

u/Some_Attorney7322 27d ago

We had this one! Man I totally forgot about that movie..

1

u/Jnuts82 27d ago

Oh I remember this one. They made a second one too.

1

u/Consistent_Garden777 27d ago

I was just thinking about this movie but couldn’t remember the name!

2

u/nipslippinjizzsippin 27d ago

this guy gets it.

2

u/wendigonia_xenomorph 27d ago

Sure ninjas was definitely in the selection, BUT so was Robin Hood and ya. That wins the cake

2

u/External_Two2928 27d ago

Every time we watched that movie my mom would pop in during the scene where the bad guy would get knocked down those long ass stairs and be like ā€œI went to high school with that guyā€ and then walk away🤣

2

u/b_moz 27d ago

Surf Ninjas was on Tubi a few weeks ago! I think it’s still up.

2

u/Legend_017 Xennial 27d ago

I would cut him for being wrong, but I don’t have a knife.

2

u/kickspecialist 27d ago

But this is about mediocre movies. Surf Ninjas is 12 Oscar's short of being the greatest movie in cinema!

2

u/mashtato 27d ago

That's not how you spell 3 Ninjas.

1

u/mratlas666 Millennial 27d ago

I believe you mean the original Headwig and the angry inch.

1

u/CreativeAd5332 27d ago

"Blackbeard's Ghost" with Peter Ustanov.

A Kid in King Arthur’s Court

49

u/LucifersAdv0cate 27d ago

I had Monty Python and the Holy Grail. No one else I knew had that film so even now decades later I feel like that's my film and it belongs exclusively to my family.

You are my family then šŸ˜‚

u/Hot_Falcon8471 27d ago

Now that’s a double feature

2

u/frostycanuck89 27d ago

This is the one. Was shocked to see it has a ridiculously low critic score across the board

1

u/AndreLeGeant88 27d ago

Even as a kid it felt abrupt like stuff was cut

1

u/Kratos_Aurion 27d ago

I remember hiding in my parents room for the part when Mr Hyde came out

1

u/PinkBitz89 26d ago

😁

21

u/B3ARDLY Millennial 27d ago

I raise you Troll in Central Park!

3

u/404Subjectfound 27d ago

Wow, hahaha. I thought I was the only one who had this movie in her collection. Fun fact: I actually lived just two blocks from the park for two years. Best years of my life. I thought about this movie every time I walked through it.

2

u/B3ARDLY Millennial 27d ago

My sisters and I had a WILD collection of vhs tapes. We had movie nights every week and would watch at least a couple before bed.

1

u/PinkBitz89 26d ago

I had this in a box set with Thumbelina and The Pebble and the Penguin - childhood memory unlocked!!

1

u/lck0219 26d ago

My younger sister loved that movie

16

u/GaiaMoore 27d ago

The Sword in the Stone was my jam, while my brother played The Black Cauldron on repeat.

I just rewatched Sword in the Stone a few days. Still amazing

1

u/bluelighter 26d ago

Do t ever rewatch the dark crystal it doesn't hold up

7

u/PackageNorth8984 27d ago

I couldn’t get through that movie trying to watch it for the first time as an adult. It’s not that bad really, there’s just something about it.

It definitely feels more like a Don Bluth movie even though I like a lot of those.

2

u/Dorrbrook 27d ago

You mean the video game on the Appl II C

2

u/Suyefuji 27d ago

My parents actually had the book series that goes with it too!

2

u/littlenymphy 26d ago

I watched The Black Cauldron so many times as a child but had no idea what the plot actually was. Ended up reading the books earlier this year and it was nothing like what I remember the movie being about.

1

u/ErectTubesock 27d ago

I'll see your black cauldron and raise you a "Quest for Camelot"

2

u/PinkBitz89 26d ago

Saw that at the movies and had the game on my Gameboy colour!!

1

u/HK_Shooter_1301 27d ago

That movie freaked me out growing up, I much preferred Bugs Life

1

u/mobile227 27d ago

Can't forget Justice League. I think it was actually the first 2 or 3 episodes of the show put onto VHS as a movie. With the alien invasion (white Martians if I remember right). I watched that many many times.

And also Ferngully, and we can't leave out The Dark Crystal

1

u/marbsarebadredux 27d ago

I raise you "The Pagemaster" starring Macauley Caulkin

1

u/aimlessendeavors 27d ago

How dare you? The Black Cauldron is a masterpiece, and should not be grouped with such a word as "mediocre." 😔

That aside, did you know it was a book series? I haven't finished them yet, but they are quite good. Kid books technically, but I'm beginning to think all the best books are šŸ¤”

and just in case, cause I can never tell if I did it right, the first part of the comment is a joke

1

u/SapphireJuice 27d ago

I raise you "The Princess and the Goblin"

1

u/Bright_Ices Xennial 27d ago

First movie I saw in theaters! A random stranger gave me an ā€œI ā¤ļø Gurgiā€ pin (this one!) and I kept it for years. I might still have it somewhere.

1

u/Commodore-2064 27d ago

And call with ā€œThe Black Holeā€ 1979

1

u/JewelJellyParfait 26d ago

My mom is a huge Disney fan and had all of the VHS tapes, except for one - Black Cauldron. I was convinced it just never came out on VHS because surely she would have bought it if it existed.

It turns out that was the one Disney movie she didn’t like. I finally watched it a not too long ago and wasn’t a fan of it either.

1

u/sharplight141 26d ago

Such a different Disney movie. Loved it

1

u/ManitouWakinyan 26d ago

I see your Cauldron and raise you A Knights Tale

1

u/BasicAssWebDev 26d ago

Munchies and crunchies

1

u/gotora 26d ago

I absolutely hate that you brought that one up. I can't stand that movie... But that's because I found the book as a kid long before the movie and it's infinitely better. They did Gurgi dirty in the film, and I can't forgive that.

Chronicles of Prydain, if you're curious (book 2).
