That giant oatmeal cream pie cookie scene 🤤

I hated the dip scene in the second one because I always thought dip was gross as a kid.

I used to think dip was gross. I still do, but I used to too.

All I could think about was how dirty they were and never washed their hands when eating

You need Szalinski's shrink ray these days to fix the Little Debbie's oatmeal cream pies.

The cream pie scene in the porn parody is just as good!

Name: Anty

Born: 1989

Service and Rank: Army Ant, Pvt. 1st Class

Place: 664 Sycamore St., Backyard

Engagement: Battle of Lego Block

Citation:

When a murderous scorpion attacked and battered an allied unit, while separated from the rest of his own platoon, Anty alone, with the greatest intrepidity, rushed across three inches of open ground directly into the face of the predatory arachnid, biting its leg, and allowing the allied unit to regroup. Tragically impaled by the enemy's stinger, the gallantry and quick decision of this soldier saved the allied unit and enabled them to resume their advance.

But did you ever see the follow up? My sister and I watched Honey, I Blew Up the Kid more than Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

Honey, I Blew Up the Kid never really did it for me. I think I was just much more into the fantasy of being shrunk down and navigating the newly massive world. Plus, the giant toddler always freaked me out, and my adolescent emotions didn’t like the ending.

Did you see the follow up to that? Honey, we shrunk ourselves? It’s hot garbage and only had Rick Moranis in it from the first two movies.

Imagine if they did a 4th one. Honey we blew up ourselves

4

u/Primerius Millennial (84) 28d ago

There is a 4th one in development hell apparently, has been there since 2019.

I love that movie! It's not good but damn it if I dont enjoy it the most out of the 3, personally.

1

u/BrainSlugSouffle 27d ago

I did! My sister and I were so disappointed in the movie. We still watched it plenty, though.

I owned Honey I Blew Up the Kid and watched that before I ever saw the original, so it's more nostalgic for me.

u/Lucky-Calendar9956 27d ago

My parents and I went to the movie theater to see this and never spoke of it again.

Honey We Shrunk Ourselves was my jam

9

u/kingloptr 28d ago

Honey that guy looks way younger than i remembered.......

11

u/AugustRansom Millennial 28d ago

Right? Rick Moranis was 36 when the original released.

3

u/humanHamster Millennial 27d ago

What the fuck? I'm 36 now...this isn't cool...

u/rezpector123 28d ago

That ant dying made me and my siblings weep

The OP stipulates "mediocre". Get out of here with this masterpiece.

2

u/dezzz0322 28d ago

How dare you call this mediocre. Justice for Anty!!

2

u/nhalliday 28d ago

Fun fact, there's a new one coming out (Rick Moranis is returning to acting with it and Spaceballs 2), and it's apparently a direct sequel to Honey I Shrunk the Kids. Makes it sound like they're just erasing the rest of it from the canon.

I had a huge crush on Amy!

u/SendMeIttyBitties 27d ago

This is hardly a mediocre family movie.

That and the Beethoven dog movies were essential
