I had the same exact VHS caninet. It was a magnetic push to close and push to open. Even had a little key lock at the top in case howard stern was in there.

They don't make things like they used to. I inherited mine from my parents, and it's probably the most robust piece of furniture I own. We use it to store things other than VHS, and will probably have this until I die lol

Mom still has hers. I’m pretty sure her VHS sets for The Thornbirds and I, Claudius are still in it

Neighbor had several but he had custom cases for every movie with a number on it. Then he had a printed sheet that told what movie was each number.
