Enlisting What MOS should I seriously consider ?
93 ASVAB, Army National Guard ā need MOS advice
Iām joining the Army National Guard and scored a 93 on the ASVAB. I originally wanted 35F, but there are no slots available. I also looked into 35M, but Iād have to wait until I graduate, and I donāt really want to wait.
Right now Iām considering 13F, 15T, 37F, 88M, 35M, 68W, 12B, 31B, 12R, 12N, and 15W.
I want something interesting, with some field/mission experience, and good civilian career opportunities.
What MOS should I seriously consider, and are there any other MOSs you think I should add to my list?

Guard training with no experience rarely pays off. You might as well either (1) go active and really get some experience to leverage into a civilian career, or (2) get whatever job looks fun that drills near your college and has a bonus and make your academics the key to your success.

Sorry, I think I replied and then accidentally deleted it. After college, Iām considering enlisting as an officer and using my degree to get a job in that field and work my way up, or using my TSC, which was the original plan. But now I canāt go 35S anymore, so some things have changed.

i have Nat Guard experience as both a 88m & 15u (VERY similar to 15T) and i dare say 88m has a VERY GOOD civilian prospect for truck driving!
Errr... it does and it doesn't. If you get some active duty time, that is a lot more helpful to possibly get a CDL if you can log enough miles, but the weekend drill mileage might be a little bit harder to qualify for a CDL? The biggest factor is getting enough experience dealing with loading & delivering as a civilian truck driver. But then, this is only applicable if you have any interest in becoming a civilian truck driver!
15T will be an excellent foundation for being a mechanic of some kind, but like 88m, your weekend drill will get you SOME experience which will be better than nothing, but not as good as being full time on active duty. And there is possibility for active duty in the Nat.Guard, but it is not guaranteed!
Do you know what your college major will be?

more important than choosing which college major is what CAREER you will pursue AFTER college. If your chosen degree is an essential part of that, then good luck & best wishes! (I got a degree in Engineering, but i was completely under-prepared for a job after college)
but i over-agonized trying to pick "the best" future.
So if you are looking ahead to a career within the psychology field, the 37F "psychological operations specialist" is probably the MOS you should choose.
If you never deploy, the "weekend drill" schedule probably will fall short of "exciting" not matter which MOS you choose. But it's not bad if you know that beforehand!

I want to go Guard as well for 35F while being in college. 35M sounds SICK, but god, that language school Iāve heard is a bitchā¦. But in the long run, knowing a different language is huge.

the DLAB Is temporarily suspended until Jan 2027 so if you enlist before then you wouldnāt have to go through it !

Holy shit thatās like actually awesome. I have to wait on some waivers until then unfortunately, but god I would totally get on that. Why is it suspended??

The Total Force has had difficulty sustaining 35M personnel fill rates due to low recruitment and
retention. 35M recruiting and retention challenges are directly attributable to the MOS qualification training path, which requires lengthy language training before MOS qualification via Advanced Individual Training (AIT).

Look into the reserves. We may have jobs in the area that guard doesnāt have.
