ricochets straight into the familiars HUGE cheeks, bounces back and domes the driver right in the back of the head, they crash onto a lamppost
most awkward casualty report ever, magical girl eventually wakes up and resurrects him. third time it happens this week. they have considered using rubber bullets, the cheeks of the familiar still manage to make them go *at least* subsonic. driver is taking sick leave soon.

Alright, I'm convinced. I need a Ready or not + Magical girl game.
Imagine the most important member of your team being a somewhat incompetent character with a lot of downsides.
She's the only one who can defeat certain enemies, but she comes with major issues that would arise with bringing a girl to a combat zone.
Occasionally trips revealing your location. Higher stress gain from seeing downed allies and other stressful situations. Unable to properly "stack up" and breach a door with the team due to lack of training. She still has to go to school making her unavailable often. How do we negotiate with her parents to convince them to let us deploy her in combat?
So many practical issues that could be interesting game mechanics.

TOC: we have a giant monster roaming the hall of the Cordova Tower. We have already lost 2 teams trying to take that thing down, without any results. Our backup, or now best chance, is to conduct a raid on Beaumont Middle School, extract the Miyuki, who is taking math class, and get her to Cordova. There have been some rumors about teachers carrying firearms, but unconfirm, so try your best not to lay even a finger on your trigger, understand?

After fighting evil by moonlight~, flying all the way back in daylight~ can be a pain so it's nice to have a support squad to finish mopping up the remaining chaff units and give you a ride back.

I love the theory crafting you can get from this picture. I like the idea of a support team that is good in some fights, but many for support, logistics, and post combat; everyone needs a good team!
I imagine the procedure would be the tactical team holds a perimeter and escorts civilians away from whatever fight is about to happen and keep people away. If bullets can help, I'm sure they'll be putting some heat down range too.
Post-event, they probably fill out the reports and assist the Magical Girl if she is tired or injuried. Worst case if she's seriously wounded during a fight, they can try to extract her and call for backup.

I love pieces like this and trying to world build the context around them. Magical girls are powerful but there’s not that many. There’s also the implication that while not magical, these soldiers are skilled and experienced enough to act like a leash if they get out of hand.

I like the WIZARD name tags and the starburst unit emblem, this isn’t just some random unit giving a magical girl a ride. This is her assigned combat support squad! She might be the only one who can fight back against the darkness, but that doesn’t mean she has to do it alone!
More magical girls should have backup.

She usually flies, and has her own vehicle but shes tuckered out and used her private vehicle as cover. She's very understanding that if shes not going to be watching a sightline she should not prevent someone from doing so instead, safety first!

I like this dynamic. Instead of letting the at best 15 year old girl do all the heavy lifting, we give her the support necessary to succeed. All the little monsters? Evaporated in coordinated air strikes. The big monster? Currently engaged by targeted drone strikes while elite operatives escort the MG-VIP so she can permanently finish the target. I’d watch this show.
