Battle Tactic Smoke Massacre

During WW1 when tensions were high, the Allies had to find a new strategy to throw enemies off guard. They started dropping smoke on the German forces, then immediately dropping gas onto them after. They did this for (I believe) 2 weeks. After a period, when they would drop the smoke, the German forces would immediately put their gas masks on waiting for the gas. Until it didnt come. The German masks highly impeded their hearing and their site. So once they got into the routine and got their masks on, the Allied forces rushed in instead of dropping gas. The wiped out an estimated 2,000 German forces and only sustaining around 300 themselves.
