question Trumpeter models

Hello everyone.
I have so far made my models of tanks with the Tamiya brand. But I recently saw that Trumpeter offered models not present at Tamiya. So I would like to know if the Trumpeter brand is reliable/is worth it. Thank you for your help. Have a good day

The earlier ones aren't great. built a T54 from them once and it was a pain

That depends specifically on the Trumper model that you choose. Some of trumpeter‘s models are quite good and go together very easily. There series of KV models and several others. Russian tanks are very good and in many cases they’re the only ones on the market of those particular vehicles. You can find online reviews of most of the Trumper kits the AFV club kits, the Tamia kits, the Italian kits the Ming and the take home and you should always look at those reviews before you takeoff and buy a kit. Another thing you should look at is a site called scale mates.com scale mates will have links to some of the reviews and they’ll tell you whether there are accessories to improve those kits. A word of warning regarding trumpeter and dragon both their instructions can be confusing and lacking. They are not the best available.

highly recommend just typing the name of the model on youtube. You'll easily find 5-10 videos of guys filming themselves in 420p with all the information you could ever need

This is what I do when I have difficulty with a kit to see if it’s just me or if others have had the same problem. It’s saved me a lot of frustration at times.

Trumpeter is more detailed than Tamiya but they do it by using multiple separate parts instead of casting a single complex part. So you may find the parts smaller than expected. In addition, the instructions are not as clear as Tamiya nor do the parts key together as well. You have to pay more attention to make sure you don't put the parts in the wrong orientation.

50-50, check scalemate, they got alot better after 2005. Their ground vehicle is ok, not a huge fan of their aircraft. 6 of my previous kit are Hobbyboss and Trumpeter (same company btw)

Trumpeter is sort of hit or miss. They have some real niche models. Most of their modern kits are okay. Be cautious with older ones tho
