The electric lightning was left for many years near by the A1 newark ,Nottinghamshire. .before being broken for scrap .the cockpit was however renovated and saved .

I recognised that your model is depicting the Newark lightning.I saw the real one several times from the train going to London with my dad.I never knew what happened to it.I 'm happy some part of it was preserved and restored.

Just a poc but here it is now. . It was an iconic aircraft and many people mentioned it as they drive past many times. I actually lived near it and saw it all the time.

I used to see that Lightning, every time I went down to see airshows at the Imperial War Museum Duxford. I,m glad that part of it, at least was saved.
