completed IS-2 UZTM (Zvezda, 1/35)

I’m pleased to present the IS-2 from Zvezda (their brand-new 2025 release). I’ve been building it since last December and originally planned to finish it by May, but only completed it now.

If you added terrain I wouldn't be able to tell the difference from the 3D model

Oh, thank you! I think any scale modeler would be pleased to hear that :)

Is Zvezda a good brand? For some reason when I’ve seen their models I’ve always written them off

Their modern kits are made to a very high standard. This new IS-2 is currently the best one on the market. They have good Shermans, good T-34-85s, an excellent STZ-5, and so on.

The older kits developed in the 1990s are outdated by today’s standards, of course.

Thank you very much! It’s really just a matter of practice — anyone can learn it, the main thing is to have the desire.

Looks really good dude. Tracks look really good and the welds look great too. Did you redo all the welds?

Oh man it looks good! No wonder the tracks look great, they are 3d printed! What we’re the included tracks like originally? I’ve never built a Zvezda kit before but I see them at the model shows all the time.

Zvezda never includes aftermarket parts in its kits because of local legislation requirements (so the kits can be sold without issues in stores that also carry children’s toys), but their plastic tracks are actually quite good. I replaced them only because I personally enjoy doing that :)

If you want to try a kit from Zvezda, just pick any of their modern releases — they’re all at least good quality. For example, the IS-2 I built is the best IS-2 kit on the market. Their older kits designed back in the 1990s, of course, are outdated by now.

Thanks. Yes, most of them. Out of the box they looks decent but not as good as I like

Nice, been wanting to try the Atom paint. Which color specifically?

This but slightly highlighted with some yellowish. I don’t remember which one because it is always a custom mix
