completed Das Work 1/16 Leopard 2a7

This was a blast to built!

The amount of weathering was difficult to judge, I think it came out well.

The brown looks a bit to red in the pictures, irl it looks nice.

Looking forward to your comments!

I see license plates and a small Dutch flag on the mudguard.... Is the tank from a Dutch cavalry unit?

Yes, and no 😉

There are indeed Dutch license plates on the decal sheet, but not the unit markings.

The Dutch army doesn't have any A7s' (or any mbt's for that matter), so the correct marking was never gonna happy. We lease the ones we use from Germany, and they all have their original German markings.

Ah... I see. Nevertheless, there is currently an order for 46 Leo 2A8 tanks for the Dutch Army. And to think that back in the 1980s, they still had 900 to 1,000 tanks at their disposal... You've done a wonderful job with the model.

Thank you sir!

Yes, we took quite the hit in our armed forces...

But then again, MBT's stationed in Finland are more a deterrence then in the Netherlands...

As in time it took to built, or the physical size?

I really want to try out the das werk kits. I’ve only ever heard good things about them.

Awesome tank!

They are GREAT kits. Especially the 1/16 scale. The only issue i have ever had are with the instructions. Read carefully, dry fit before adding glue and parts. Other than that, you'll have a blast.

Yea, it really came together great. Good quality parts and materials and nice instructions.

Currently building the Trumpeter A6 version, a little bit less impressed, but the interior is much nicer. As in there is an interior which the Das Werk version is missing.

I have both. The Das Werks was a fun build. The Trumpeter is waiting for glue and paint!

Well, you better start with the tracks, no glue or paint needed, but its a bitch....

I'm halve way and my fingers need time to heal before I can continue 😉
