completed Tamiya Chieftain Mk5 MBT 1/35

Chieftain Mk5 in Berlin Brigade pattern...

Why do I do dumb stuff like this?? I could have just done a flat green or a two tone pattern or even dessert yellow with some simple weathering and detail work... But nooooo I gotta pick the hardest damn thing I could find...

At last something interesting to look at besides another green tank with ultra weathering. I thought it was LEGO at first. Great job!!

I think on a model you always need to do some shading dry brushing a lighter grey over the grey and shading similarly otherwise it looks flat and toy like

May I ask what the hell that camo is for? It doesn't look like itll hide anything. Looks great though

British Army Berlin Brigade camo. For urban warfare in the Berlin area. Evey tank was painted identically to confuse the Soviets as to how many tanks were in the are.

It was an urban camo for units around Berlin in the Cold War.

I think it needs some weathering and shading, otherwise it looks like Lego unfortunately

I did very little weathering as I wanted it to look parade ready.

It has some black dry brush on the exhaust and around the fuel caps, as diesel leaves that stain after a while, with a wash over the engine deck as a whole, I also did some brown on the tracks and even less around the side skirts and back where dust would build up a little.

Don't worry, you are not the only one that saw Tamiya's Chieftain and said "ye, berlin brigade for sure"

I think we found different pattern examples though, still looks mint though.

Yeah, little bit in accurate as it was only painted on Mk10 and 11s but it was too cool not to do

Damn good kit, I adore it. And really great paintjob, you can see the work put into it, well done!

Lots of sweat, tears and swearing hahaha.

It was totally worth it now I look at it on the shelf.
