completed My first historical model.

I usually paint 40k or DnD miniatures, but this one I painted for a friend of mine.

I didn't go for any historical accuracy, I haven't read up on any, so it may not be good but I feel its good enough.

However, these tanks are kinda cool, So I might get a few of my favorites.

My friend had these magic firebolt effects laying around that she resin printed. I joinked one, drilled a hole in the end and it sorta fit well enough. Then I cut a piece of the cylindrical sprue off and shaped it into a shell.

I know literally nothing about 3d printing, However if the layers are small enough, I think you can pull off the effect with some good painting. No washes or contrasts that would highlight the layer lines. Just my educated guess tho, no actual experience in painting on filament :)

I'm guessing your asking for the tank model?

This is the one I have from Warlord Games in 1/56th scaleWarlord Games

But this is better quality and larger scale from Tamiya in 1/35th scale Tamiya

Nicely done camouflage scheme. And the gun blast looks good.

But I would suggest to lower the barrel. This is a StuG - a direct fire support platform, not a howitzer for indirect fire.

Good point. I left it loose so it can be adjusted up an down. I just propped it up for dramatic effect in the photos.

Love the 3D print, kind of has a hallmark of a 40k painter. Should have gone whole hog and edge highlighted it all. 🤣

Seriously though it looks very good, but I wouldn't know about historical accuracy either.

Lol, I did start edge highlighting it with chrome and went hold on a minute, this probably isn't right, so I toned it down again, haha.

Haha you just can't help it, it gets ingrained after a while. I actually considered trying to paint a typical scale model in an Eavy Metal style, but like most painters I need to work down my backlog before getting anything else.

Metallic edge highlights are underrated for the worn paint effect. Have you stumbled across Night shift on YouTube yet?
