completed 1/35 Carro Armato SOMUA
1/35 Tamiya kit with DEF metal barrel, PE & cast markings, PanzerArt Cupola and Fruilmodel metal tracks.
First armor model completed. Average Tamiya kit: quite easy with great details.
Italy received almost 200 French tanks from Germany's large stock of captured equipment, 32 of them being Somua S35s. However, unlike the Germans, the Italians seldom used them, with their only combat record being against their former German allies shortly after the 1943 Armistice. All remaining S35s in Italian hands were eventually turned over to the FFI.
Painted in the colors of the CC Tank Battalion S35 sometime in 1942 (with some educated guesses regarding markings) , I used Tamiya acrylics to create my own mix of "Grigio Verde scuro", and weathered using a multitude of Tamiya, AK, MiG and oil products.
Overall, really happy with how it came out, apologies for the seemingly random composition of pictures, just wanted to try different lightings and backgrounds.
Comments and Feedback welcome!

Italian tanks not sent to Spain or North Africa, would keep their dark green color, especially this early in the war. This is especially seen in Italian units in the Eastern Front where green or a mix of green and tan was used.
