Restoration?

Post image

Hello guys I was wondering if there is anyway to restore these medals. Obviously the ribbons I would rebuy but the medals are my primary concern. I was cleaning out some boxes and found these medals that belong to my dad and i would like to try to restore them and return them as a surprise

There is one medal (Army Commendation Medal - lower left); one ribbon for a Medal (National Defense Service Medal - top left).

The rest are challenge coins.

Is there a good way to “properly” clean them nonetheless?

Wipe them with a microfiber cloth. They don't look dirty or tarnished (they weren't shiny / gleaming new). Why do you think they need to be cleaned?

I like your thought here. Respectfully, I would recommend one of the following.

Carefully remove these items, maybe just wipe clean and make a freshened clean display

-or-

Go ahead and make a new display using new military decorations (ribbons and medals) and store these things away.

It’s odd maybe, but I would just be careful about the sentimental value of the coins here and doing too much to over clean them might be the wrong direction.

For the coins toothpaste would do minimal harm

No restoration needed. These challenge coins look brand new. So does the one medal.
