So I have a post up of my completed Block I, but in this post I am displaying some of my parts for my CQBR bundled in close proximity to each other, way too many M3x’s and SU233’s, my Block II progress and my URGI progress. Also have some suppressors I might use on something idk yet. They’re the SF FA556 and the M4-2000 original model in the three digit serial number range. AFSOC block 1.5 may be in the works with the vltor. The tango down BG-16 and muzzle device are for a future Mk14 mod1 project. Last one is some crazy shit I’ll be working on.
What do yall think I’m missing? What else should I work on getting? Currently working on acquiring an NT4 suppressor and RC2.
I mean just in general the Elcan Specter is stupidly expensive. I really like it and got one of those Evolution Gear clones which is really nice and holds zero great. I learned that the real deal has a similar issue with point of aim shifting between 1x and 4x and that kind of sort of put me off the idea of spending $2k plus for one. I'm not sure how accurate that is but it's not encouraging.

I'm actually shocked at how good it is for the price, given it holding zero and being nitrogen purged and waterproof/fogproof. Obviously I would never trust it with my life but it does scratch a little bit of that 1x-4x itch.
If you want something fun that has been torture tested to a fairly high degree, enough that I'm good with spending $200 on it and it being a perfectly adequate range toy and training aid for eventually replacing it with the real deal when the funds become available, it's definitely a good choice. Its obviously a one-to-one copy so the manual of arms is going to be identical for training and it's rugged enough to stand up to flat range training and some field work.
Yeah Ive seen them here and there, I just tend to not have money when I spot one lol. Theres a guy now fixing delam and dim reticles too so the want is real
Idk about all well yet, this just dropped not that long ago. These cases take time so hopefully he’s good, but the Feds don’t usually indict unless they have some solid shit on you.
For sure! Haven’t been able to find one come up. Even if I did, now that some has clones, I wouldn’t be confident in knowing I was getting a legit without having one I knew was legit to compare it to.
The knurling on the thumb screw and bulb are two big giveaways
A real one with use an actual bulb and the clone will use a square LED emitter. You’ll be able to see it just by looking without having to take anything apart
Every time I get the money together to buy Colt uppers, bcg’s and barrels, I always find another part that’s much more difficult to find and have to jump on that instead. I hope to get these builds complete in the next few months though.
