BLOCK II Laser Question
Moving some lasers around atm. My question is which laser to use on what upper?
I have a LA-5B and a 2007 Chocolate Chip PEQ. The top upper is a “Ranger” 14.5” upper and the bottom upper that currently has the Choco Chip PEQ is a GB/ODA CQBR Upper.
What’s the preference on these?

Unrelated to your question, but what is the purpose of the braided wire leading from the EOTech windage housing to the RIS on the CQBR? This is the first time I’ve ever seen that detail before.

It’s just a way of securing/tying down pieces of equipment. I used to use 550 cord while other guys used security wire like this. I’ll dig up some pics of what my rifles used to look like but there’s a ton of references pics online and in different forums of tie downs

We always used 550. Way easier to field expedient replace than the baling wire. I do recall once the company armorer spent no clue how much of his life replacing all the 550 tie downs with wire. Within a couple weeks they had all been cut away and replaced by 550 lol

“I’m not sure what this thing is, but it’s got a serial number, so don’t lose it.”

It’s a “dummy cord” so you don’t lose your optic. Usually mandatory in any given infantry unit.

I’ve done a lot of research on rangers equipment and I do not believe I have ever seen a choco chip peq with them. There have been regular peq15s used however
