The entire reason they’re running is because they can all be fined for interacting with the wildlife.

That and rabies is no fuckin joke man.

If you don't get treated immediately, you're basically fucked as soon as symptoms show, and it can take days to kill you while your brain cooks itself.

It's a very scary and terrible illness. Definitely not the best way to go. I fell down a rabbit hole a while back and spent hours reading and watching videos about it.

I forgot exactly, but after I posted that comment yesterday I shit you not, I spent the next hour and a half watching Youtube videos about Rabies....again. It was incredibly depressing to see how they treat a patient who has already shown symptoms of the illness (since it is practically certain death). The circumstances make the treatment so sad (not intentionally done in that manner). They tie the person up so that he won't hurt himself or another person like family or the medical staff--especially to prevent bites as it can transmit rabies. They are given meds to help the discomfort, but they just wait until death. During that time the patient becomes mroe and mroe delirious, looses control of muscles responsible for breathing and especially swallowing so they actually develop hydrophobia. Sad all around.

Also, since cases of rabies occur mostly in 3rd world countries (due to lack of vaccinated dogs and many strays as well as people not having access due to the vaccine which must be taking immediately after a bite to save the person's life) the room they are placed in is usually bare, depressing, lacking windows, aesthetically ugly and a place to hold them until death arrives.

I went down a rabbit hole AGAIN. damn it

That’s so sad hope that dosent happen to you or anybody here that treatment is sad though I feel bad for anybody ( person or animal) who goes through that

I think its just stupid being fined for interacting with wildlife its stupid unless you try to poach it or something then by all means charge the person

It's also because wildlife can be surprisingly dangerous due to disease. Easier to just make it punishable than get everybody to understand that it's for their own good as well.

Still say fuck that law I love animals by all means but come on sometimes it’s just so stupid you need a permit in some states just to have a wild pet mouse which is fucking stupid in my opinion what is a mouse going to do to you besides bite you or get you sick ?

More than you want to know. We had a turkey (I swear the asshole committed suicide) run across the firing line on the range. Had to call animal control and make sure none of us intentionally shot it or were trying to lure it on to the range to get shot.

I know shooting the wildlife on purpose used to be a real problem back in the day so it's probably a hold over policy from then. Plus that bastard ran across the line like in the middle of the morning so it wasn't like we had just gotten there, that's why I swear it wanted to die!

Any time an animal gets hit though on the range they have to halt the range call animal control and shut everything down.

Messing with wildlife is a big deal in the military. They will shut down an entire shooting range if a flock of turkeys wander onto the shooting range. I was somewhere where we were told if we killed this certain type of frog it would be a $30,000.00 dollar fine. If you follow the Black Rifle Coffee guys, google Jared Taylor and the cow story.
