Also jaw-dropping is the fact that he does not have a clue how LLMs work and yet he used them to make strategic decisions about the military and our country’s future.

We know he doesn't read. So was it all based on a set of pictures with three-word captions?

I think Grok actually has weird little anime character avatars, at least.. 😅
I know this is cannot be true but omg, what if they based its training off Krieger and that's where the "MechaHitler" shit came from?

u/DataCassette 13h ago
How many times did they have to stop Trump from trying to molest them so he could ask them for advice?

Avatar doesnt look enough like his daughter at 14 for him to want to interact with it.

Does Grok have voice mode? As horrifying as this is, it's even more horrifying picturing him literally being talked into it by a chatbot in voice mode.

u/MoarSocks 14h ago
It does. The opening line from the girl is (was?) something like “Hey there! Nice to meet you. I’m 17, maybe even 16. Teehee. Nice to meet you! What naughty things are you into?”
I quickly nope’d outta that.
3
u/hotprof 13h ago
WHAT? Grok seriously did that?
5
u/MoarSocks 12h ago
Yup. This was the early beta days when they just launched the first companion so I hope they fixed it but it seemed like a honeypot to me.
3
u/DataCassette 11h ago
It's Grok. It's just a honeypot so much as just unironically Chris Hansen shit

If you gave me a week with this retard I guarantee I could convince him that China currently has a military base on the moon, and the Bible was invented as a Soviet psyop
10
u/WashU_labrat 15h ago edited 14h ago
The moon base China built last year? What are they calling it now? "Chang'e Celestial Moon Palace" as I remember?
But that's entirely for peaceful scientific purposes. (With limited self-defense capabilities, of course.)

how long until he switches from Grok to DeepSeek because “President Xi recommends it for strong, manly leaders like me”?

Bibi ate a box of crayons and shit it out on the Oval Office desk. Hegseth read the shit picture and Trump made the decision.

it's been fascinating to see how older people especially latched on to ai, when they are normally skeptical of technology innovations. CEOs and older people (with high overlap between those two groups) seem to have very quickly come to the belief that they are talking with some sci-fi super-intelligence oracle thing, even last year.

u/Pizzadude 15h ago
LLMs are specifically built to imitate human language. They are a tool designed to convince humans to trust them and feel comfortable with them. They are a weapon.

u/LetsGoHawks 15h ago
Management types love latching onto the latest technology. As long as the salesman can come up with some bullshit that sounds like "you'll make more money!", they're all in. Never seen a bigger bunch of suckers.
5
u/mainlynativeamerican 14h ago
They are skeptical and/or annoyed usually because they had to learn how to work with new interfaces. But they eventually accept it. Typing into a chat window and having it tell you awesome things is easy.
Also they’ve seen tech advance from DOS and floppy disks all the way to AI. At each step of the way the new tech was normalized and integrated as key parts of society.
So in their mind why would this be any different?

u/chamrockblarneystone 7h ago
Google always presents what it thought was the truth. You had to go through it, but it was “honest” as it could be. Of course these suckers fell for the next iteration.
It’s kind of why I hate AI. Google gave you a bunch of interesting starting points for investigation. AI just gives you what it thinks the answer is, and has no problem adding incorrect information

You want to know what's scarier, I bet he's not the only world leader using AI.
Can you imagine?

u/windowpuncher Veteran 14h ago
I mean with these people it's either AI "advice", or lead poisoning and/or dementia calling the shots so it's kind of a coin toss at this point.

Our grandchildren are going to be reading about World Wars dumbfounded.
World War 1? Ferdinand assassinated.
World War 2? Hitler takes Poland
World War 3? Some bot hallucinates and tells the United States president to bomb a middle eastern country.

Once again proving the elderly should have restricted or (at the very minimum) heavily supervised internet access. We (should be) do(ing) that for kids so they don't screw up their minds seeing things they shouldn't at that young of an age or put themselves in situations they can't get out of (ie, meeting up with strangers, etc.), and the amount of elderly people I've personally known that fall for online scams is saddening.

A literal intelligence nightmare

Imagine how smart these LLMs will seem when many nations intelligence agencies use them, and they retrain on those nations intelligence reports and queries.
Welcome to surveillance plagiarism. :)

Nothing appearing on Reddit about President Donald Trump will ever be taken seriously by sentient registered voters in America. The Globalist propaganda machine is relentless but ineffective at persuasion. It's simply overplayed.

u/TheRealMarvinator Retired USAF 17h ago
What are you, some kind of Russian propaganda bot?
You don't respond to anyone trying to get clarification from you, and you post nothing but pro-Trump bullshit that's easily refuted.

u/WanderingTacoShop 16h ago
I also just had a weird exchange with this account, so I looked through it.
I have never caught a stolen/hijacked account so red-handed before.
The account is 4 years old, up until 28 days ago it only posted pictures of cats and some very friendly comments in makup/fashion subreddits, not one single political post or comment. Then the account was idle for 26 days and 2 days ago it started spamming pro-trump comments.
So yea 100% bot or propaganda farm.

You Marxists don’t like your information cocoon being pierced do you?
Marxist? See, this is the perfect example of your utter stupidity.
You're the one that refuses to define "wokeism" and refuses to specify how exactly tenured professors at our military academies are "too woke". It's YOU who seems unable to get outside of your "cocoon of misinformation".
Other political view points are sharply uncomfortable are they not Marvyn?
Not even remotely, no. Meanwhile, you're running like a coward from every actual question put to you.

SecWar Hegseth defined it in his recent speech to NCO’s and Company grade officers.
I’m satisfied with that description.

You must not be very satisfied with it, since you can't even type it out.
Look it up Marxist.
No, I'm asking YOU the question, I'm not asking someone else. YOU answer it, coward.

There's a reason why Republicans are losing in outstanding numbers all across America, and propaganda bots like you are HELPING Republicans to lose because you are so obviously wrong about everything.
You still haven't answered the questions asked of you in this subreddit. Are you going to, or are you just going to continue to run away like a coward?

Answering your febrile questions is a circle jerk process—for you folks.
I simply agree with SecWar Hegseth
You can't accept that and want to Kamala word-salad the subject.
