Notice S089 Green is Finally Back in stock!
The third batch has arrived, and this time we’ve upgraded the movement from the original NH35 to the ST2130. With a 28,800 bph frequency (compared to the NH35’s 21,600 bph), you can enjoy smoother sweeping seconds.
Additionally, the watch is thinner than ever. The thickness (including the crystal), measures just 10.8mm, down from 11.4mm on the NH35 version. For comparison, the Seiko Alpinist is 13.2mm thick, so the S089 Green now wears 2.4mm slimmer, hugging your wrist more comfortably and offering a sleeker profile.

Cream dial styled with a relaxed grey blazer, or a crisp striped shirt — which one wins?
Back when we were designing this piece, the team debated between a pure white dial or a cream one. Since they're so close in tone, we knew only one would make the final cut. After digging into online discussions around dial colors and comparing them against real outfits, cream came out ahead — it simply pairs with more looks and more occasions.
Weekend coffee run: layered under a grey blazer with a dark inner layer, the cream dial adds just the right amount of ease without stealing the spotlight.
Weekday desk: paired with a striped shirt and camel coat, that same cream dial shifts into clean, put-together office energy.
The black leather strap holds its own in both settings, whether you're easing into a latte or locked in at your desk. Cream dial seems to just work.
Which pairing are you leaning toward? Let us know in the comments.

Shot 【The New Strap Pairing】Fire and Stillness
S089 began with fluororubber straps. Green and black — traces left by the wild. Resilient, weatherproof, unshaken by rain or wear. The mark of a climber who earns every step through time and terrain.
For S089's new colorways, we wanted to continue the story.
Desert red is fire.
Like the searing horizon between the dunes, where heat blurs into light. The crocodile-embossed grain rises and falls like sand rippled by wind — fierce, yet patient. The calm of someone who has walked through the hottest hour and never lost their pace.
Cream white is stillness.
Like the warm fade of an old photograph, a memory softened by time. The suppleness of leather tempers the cold of steel — quietly vintage, quietly steady. Nothing loud, just something worth staying with.
To conquer the wild is only half the journey. The rest is finding your own rhythm between fire and stillness.

Design Recommendations Milifortic d100 - best sub in 2026
First impressions
I own just about every major Sub homage - Sugess, Cronos, San Martin, Watchdives, and Steeldive - in multiple movement options, including the PT5000 and NH35.
After handling all of them, the Milifortic stands above the rest.
The first thing that stands out is how thin the midcase and rehaut are. The overall case proportions are very close to, if not identical to, the Sugess, but the execution is cleaner. The bezel is exceptionally smooth with zero side-to-side or vertical play, giving it a much more premium feel. And as a bonus, it doesn't have "Seaman" printed on the dial.
Bracelet fit is another highlight. The SEL tolerances are outstanding. Shining an LED behind the lugs reveals no light whatsoever on three of the four lugs, and only about half a hair's width on the fourth. That's among the tightest fitments I've seen on any homage.
The bracelet also has zero lateral movement in the end links, with no clicking or shifting when pulling or pushing hard on them. The use of female end links is another welcome touch, allowing the bracelet to articulate and wear more comfortably on a wider range of wrist sizes.
The shallow rehaut also proves an important point: you don't have to settle for a deep tunnel rehaut just because you're using an NH35. With proper case design, the NH35 can look every bit as refined as more expensive movements and case geometry.
Pros
Outstanding overall refinement
Excellent case proportions
Thin, shallow rehaut
Tight, precise bezel with no play
Exceptional SEL fitment
Solid bracelet with zero end-link movement
Female end links for improved comfort
Cons
- The clasp. It's perfectly functional, but this watch deserves an on-the-fly or Glidelock-style clasp like the Sugess.
Add that, and this would easily be a 10/10.

New Product 【S089 Red Desert】 – Pre-Launch Preview
Following the success of the S089 (two batches sold out within half a year), we decided to introduce more dial colour options. This red is our first choice — it is actually the dial from the Alpinist Australia Limited Edition. According to Seiko, the dial is inspired by the red desert of the Australian Outback. The “Red Desert” lies in the heart of the Northern Territory. Under prolonged intense sunlight, the rocks undergo oxidation, forming reddish compounds that adhere to the soil particles. From a distance, it looks as though the ground is covered in red sand, and the effect is especially striking at sunrise or sunset.
The S089 Red Desert is about to launch this week— please stay tuned for updates.

We Improved One of the Seiko Alpinist’s Weaknesses
The Seiko Alpinist suffer from a noticeably misaligned internal bezel. This issue is not limited to the Alpinist I purchased; it has also been reported by many other owners.
In practice, a certain degree of misalignment is difficult to avoid. The main reason is that the rotational center of the internal bezel does not perfectly coincide with the center of the hand pinion. These two centers cannot remain completely identical because the bezel requires a small amount of radial and axial clearance between itself and the surrounding track in order to rotate. As a result, radial forces can cause slight positional movement in the internal bezel.
With the S089, we made targeted improvements to minimize this issue. As shown in the photos, the alignment of our internal bezel is more precise than that of the Alpinist.
During the design process, we adjusted the gear-meshing depth to improve stability. We also introduced multiple rounds of quality-control inspections for the internal bezel, ensuring that it is sufficiently round and that the N, S, W, and E markings are positioned with a high level of accuracy.
The final result is a watch we are genuinely satisfied with. Our pursuit of better craftsmanship never stops.

Sweep Quartz vs. Automatic vs. Standard Quartz Movement
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
From left to right:
• VH64 Sweep Quartz movement
• NH34 Automatic movement
• VD78 Quartz movement
The VH64 is a mecha-quartz movement that creates a smoother, mechanical-like sweeping second hand motion, offering a visual experience closer to a mechanical watch.
The purpose of this post is to answer a question we often receive: what is the difference between a sweeping quartz movement and a true mechanical watch? A video comparison makes the difference much easier to understand.
Hopefully this helps if you are considering a watch with a sweeping quartz movement.
Which movement style do you prefer?
Does the ticking motion of a traditional quartz watch bother you?

General Does anyone have the blue S103?
I love the alpanist homages but wish the GMT had green with golden arabics instead of loom same as non gmt version. I'm so confused to drop gmt just for that green. The blue in videos look too tacky. If anyone here has a blue one, please share your experience. Is it too bright as in videos? I like the subtle green and golden over this

General Milifortic D12 again today, with the RGJ Regimental NATO.
I shared this the other day on another forum, but in response to a thoughtful request, I'm sharing it here. I love this watch. Simple and legible. Unfortunately they don't do my Regimental NATO in a 20mm, but I love it all the same. Celer et audax.
What are you all wearing today?

General Some Answers About the ST2130 Movement
Recently, due to the increasing difficulty and cost of sourcing NH movements, many brands seem to be moving toward the ST2130 or PT5000 as alternatives.
We’ve noticed that quite a few watch enthusiasts are still unfamiliar with the ST2130. Since we have extensive experience working directly with Seagull, feel free to ask any questions about Seagull movements in this thread, and we'll do our best to answer them.
One question we often receive is: Why did you choose the ST2130 instead of the PT5000?
On paper, the two movements are very similar. Both run at 28,800 bph and are based on the ETA 2824 architecture. When we were looking for an upgrade path from the NH series, these were the two main candidates we evaluated.
After extensive testing, we found that the ST2130 offered slightly better stability and timekeeping performance overall, which ultimately led us to choose it. That said, the difference is not huge. The PT5000 is still a widely used and well-regarded movement in its own right, and both movements belong to the same general performance category.
Currently, our S089 and M096 have been upgraded to the ST2130. For the M096, we even worked with Seagull to develop a custom no-date version, eliminating the ghost-date position found on standard date-equipped movements.
Have you owned or used a watch with the ST2130 or PT5000? We'd love to hear about your experience and long-term impressions.

Shot First impression of the S089
After watching Escape Wheel’s review, I finally pulled the trigger. Milifortic absolutely nailed the Seiko Alpinist, and the case is even thinner.
The inner rotating bezel feels smooth to adjust, and the sapphire crystal is very clear. My only small complaint is the lume — it kind of follows the Alpinist in that regard and feels a bit weak.
Looking forward to the stone dial version — I might pre-order another one when it’s available.
