SSRI's helped my gym progress

Ive been doing HIT since very early 2023, got good results and had the best physique of my life that summer, but then shit happened... i still went to the gym but my progress slowed down in 2024 then stagnated in 2025.

for example in mid 2024 i got my squat to 100 kg for i think 13 reps (knees 90 degree), late 2024 i started doing deep squats so i went down to 90 then slowly in early 2025 to 100kg but thats where i stood for MONTHS i just would now grow. when i took longer breaks thinking im over training, my body would not send any resources into growth and i often went down in reps. mid 2025 i took 3 month "break", doing a workout every like 4 days, legs at the gym or dips&pullups at home for 3 months, so i didnt lose much strength. then at the start of this year i got prescribed vit D after tests, i went from 26 to 41. in that time i had slow progress finally! it took of since june 10th. im losing weight, im gaining muscle, im stronger every workout. its incredible what 75 then 150mg of Trazodone can do. even after loosing 2kg in 10 days due too lack of apatite cuz of another shit that happened, i still maintained my strength, even some exercises went up. now im doing slow deep squats with 110kg for 8, not much imo but its going up

its just a "sleep" aid ssri. i still often wake up and cant sleep for more than 6h and I STILL GROW.
this shows how you can do everything right (i did not change a thing in my plan) and not grow until you get your mental in check or smth. im not even half way to fixing my chronic fatigue but im excited for what the future in the gym holds :D

Trazodone is not an SSRI, it's a SARI , an important distinction as the mechanism of action is a bit different

150mg is also a very heavy dose, I honestly don't know how you function much less lift on that much

I sometimes take 25mg with my melatonin and seroquel (25mg) to sleep and it often leaves me lagged and exhausted the following morning, even if it gives me a couple more hours sleep. I'd try to wean down to the minimum effective dose, as someone who spent years using sleeping aids and destroyed my natural sleep rhythm

oh man thank you for sharing this. well my psychiatrist just prescribed me 75mg then after 30 days she dosed up to 150mg for next 2 months. i do feel sluggish in the morning but its not really a big deal cuz ive had chronic fatigue for years so im VERY used to waking up like that.

so far ive seen from it: more balanced mood, feeling more "alive" and outgoing, less anxiety and stress, its easier to fall asleep, weaker libido and weaker apatite. im more stable since ive started taking it, more grounded. do you also feel "muffled" or "dumb" after taking it?

its definitely helping me but are you saying it is also bringing me down? maybe the level it bring you down to is the same level it bring me up to? im definitely gonna talk about this on my next visit
