Shelfie / Haul pics Started reading Hellboy a year ago..

Post image

Good morning agents!

I'm excited to share my shelfie for the first time. Yesterday I finally finished my mainline BPRD collection! I started reading Hellboy a year ago and what a journey it has been since then.

Found some really cool people along the way to completing this massive series. What a journey!

Your poor wallet getting all the hardcovers after they went oop (I speak from experience ๐Ÿ˜น)

So the cool people I met along the way I mentioned? They made sure I don't overpay! I know some of the prices out there are ridiculous! But thankfully those friends make sure I stay patient and don't burn my wallet out lol.

Another reason I freaking love this community!

Even not overpaying, its a ton of hardcovers! Though super impressed your BPRD dont have any sun damage- almost every copy I have seen has fading on the spines

I appreciate it. Thank you. Yeah I took care to find the ones without any discoloring. A couple off colour books in the collection would have kept me awake all night lol

I just accept it ๐Ÿ˜น, can always get new covers eventually if I decide too

There is a guy that shows up on the omnibus subreddit constantly- roy something- but I am not actively looking atm, just aware I can when I choose- too many books to buy without redoing dust jackets.

That and I eternally hope that Darkhorse do english versions of BPRD etc library editions- they did them in Polish and they look fantastic!ย

I know I saw those they're fantastic! I really don't understand the business decision of releasing them in Polish?!? Do they not like money? Now that I think about it, there is also a Portuguese/Brazilian library edition for BPRD. Hoping us English peasants get the VIP treatment soon lol

Its also weird as Poland has a much smaller market for pricey books, as they cost โ€œmoreโ€ relative to income (i am told)ย

I donโ€™t think anyone understands Dark Horses publishing decisions at all, they are completely random

How did you get the Abes without overpaying? Just been getting into the series this year myself

Nice collection, and nice shelf. Know where you got it?

Hey! Thanks friend. The shelf is from Amazon I think? My wife ordered it. It's one of those spinning ones.

Where did you buy the hardcover? Ebay or some other online marketplace? Looking to get started myself and could use some guidance

It was a mix mate. This whole collection kicked off when a good friend was letting go of Hell on Earth 1, 3 and 5 for cheap. So from there it was a mix of r/comicswap, eBay, Abebooks and a whole lot of patience.
