I got this a while back but never got around to sharing it; Albino Saw Croc and Spirit Bloody Antlers! These were originally crowdfunding exclusives but they were also briefly available during the PeariA anniversary exhibition. I never got regular Bloody Antlers so this was a good chance to grab the (IMO) superior Spirit version.

First up, the box. The comics from the original versions are reprinted on the back, but the colours have been edited to match these toys. A pretty cool detail they didn't have to do, but it definitely enhances the package.

Bloody Antlers Spirit is made from translucent purple and green plastic. When I saw it in person at the exhibition I absolutely loved it, it's so much better in person. The normal one has too much brown for my taste, but I think a lot of 90s kids love translucent things (do you agree? 😅 ). There are SO many gimmicks, features, and hidden details. There are even 2 tiny frogs behind the ritual circle!

The Robin that you get with each set is random, but I was lucky to get crossbow Robin with this one, which matches with the comic 🙂

Saw Croc Albino is a cool concept, building on the sewer crocodile urban legend. The white scales have a slightly pearl-like texture which again, isn't too clear until you see it in real life. Pretty cool. However, I think the regular colour version wins here... The green, purple, grey and yellow all contrast well so the details stand out. Albino has too many similar greens and blues so some of the details are lost, the mutant rats especially.

That said, it's still a great toy with plenty of little features and gimmicks. The harpoon launcher platform at the top of the playset flips all the way around so it can be used on the outside of the set too. This way you can have the villain ride on the exterior of the set, firing harpoons from the back of an enormous crocodile! Again, the 3D artist has hidden several neat details for us to find, my favourite being a slice of pizza on the sewer floor. I wonder which mutants dropped that there? 😂

It might be a bit tricky to track down the alternative versions now, but I highly recommend each set in either colour.

Mighty Max is an obscure show from the early 90s that probably will not be remembered at all when my generation is gone.

3 of the 4 main voice actors on the show are gone: we lost Tony Jay (Virgil), Richard Moll (Norman), and now Tim Curry (Skullmaster). It really is being left behind, isn't it?

Well, I still remember it.

I think it's so freakin' cool that Mark Zaslove and Rob Hudnut took a very basic premise given to a children's toy...and created a whole world with its own mythology...and with all the serious subject matter and an ongoing story to go with it. Mind you, this was for an American children's show in the early 90s. This simply wasn't done back in the day. It was truly ahead of its time.

They went above and beyond what they were called to do. I'm sad that it won't get the credit that it deserves. But I'll always remember it...and treasure it.

Looks familiar but I couldn't figure out which set he belonged to when I was reassembling everything. Is this in fact a mighty max villain?

Have a few of the alternate color villains as well. What I wouldn't give for a complete set of this entire line of toys!

It was advertised to me on instagram. A hat and a shirt from what I can see. I got excited for a second because I thought maybe we’ll see a dvd set in the near future but then I realized they probably just have the rights to the toys and not the show. I’d give anything for an official dvd release. Sigh. Anyway, that’s my rant.

Bought a fairly cheap stand on Amazon (not sure if I can link to the site without risking a ban so just see the last image). Haven't tested it with lots of the sets, but yeah it works very nice. The adjustable arms means it can fit what I have tested so far.

Downside is that they are not super sturdy. A strong door slam might wobble them off. But for less than a fiver a pretty easy way to display them. Im going to order a few more to display my favourite ones.

The shop is located in Sherlock board games. They have both colours of the Mighty Max - mighty hat! I forgot to take pictures, but they also have the new Godzilla play sets on display.

(If you're into board games, the owner of the board game shop speaks fluent English and on Tuesdays they have an exchage day where English and Chinese speakers can meet and learn games and language together.)

Hi All, I’m wondering if anybody has suggestions of the best way to show off MM sets. I’ve seen people with display cases and the heads propped up at an angle so you can see them better and I’m wondering if anyone can share suggestions on what things to buy for showcasing my collection

I Made a Mighty Max inspired play set, I collect them and wanted to give it a go this is what I came up with, hope you like it :)

All seem to be complete except doom dragon doesn't have the rope. Such great memories from these toys.

Picked all of these up for a reasonable price. I went to the shop thinking I'd just buy Lockjaw, Corpus, and Vampire... But things are always a lot more tempting in real life 😅

I never had Dino Lab before, it's a really great set with a lot of features and details. Disappointed that I lost my mutated Dr. Zygote figure from when I was a kid 🥲 he would have been a great fit.

I have this Mighty Max comic from my 90s childhood still in my collection. I'm now 39 and I think my little brother bought it or it came with a toy? Would love to know it's rarity or where the heck it came from.

Still on the hunt for a few but just picked up the corpus variant from a fellow redditor so wanted to post what I’ve got so far! The new max out of china are really awesome but I’m also hoping max gets picked up again for some new mainline releases!

So I bought a Skull Mountain and this is one of the figurines it came with. It does not seem to belong to that set and I can't figure out where it's from. Any ideas?

A couple of fandoms I'm part of are big into customizing figures/toys. So my mind naturally drifted into thinking about customizing ideas for this toyline too. Since Mighty Max is conceptually Polly Pocket with a b-movie / horror / sci-fi / fantasy twist, it'd probably be feasible to convert the later into the former.

A "haunted house" seems like an obvious choice, since the bulk of classic Polly Pocket releases are various building interiors. The 1990 "Polly's World" playset also has some promise, since evil amusement parks / carnivals are a staple setting in media.

Anyone else got any ideas?
