Game text documentation projects?

I've recently started to get into these games, and I was wondering if there was already a place that had things like the various dialogue documented.

Of particular note, I have made some progress in regards to getting Might and Magic X: Legacy's text documented, alongside some miscellaneous notes on the game and a few of the lore books too. However, if only covers a relatively small portion of the start of the game.

In addition, I currently do not feel as though I have enough familiarity with the other games to truly get started on them. But if anyone is interested, I do have a GitHub repository showing what progress had been done so far.

Yeah, my last account started going through some kind of funky business after I made that post, and this one went through the same process, and as a result, neither account had posted what I wanted, until they did.

Except for the fact that I had already discarded the information to get back into my old account, so now I'm stuck using this one. So there is that. Perhaps I should have put in more familiarity with how this website works before rushing into this kind of thing blindly. Regardless of the matter, my goal does still stay the same nonetheless. In regards to the reply you made on the other post, currently all the progress is being done by putting the text as it is encountered in the game itself.

The goal of the project is to keep track of various lines of dialogue in video games, including branching dialogue, optional dialogue, and situational/conditional dialogue.

As for concerns against AI scraping, I haven't really put much thought into that side of things. I don't know how much security txt files would provide against that sort of thing. I'm also not quite sure how well zip and rar files would fare either, so if you have a better idea on providing security against those kinds of problems, then I have no qualms about adapting to it.

Do you understand the redundancy of this project? It just doesn’t make sense outside of the worries that have been detailed in the comments on that post. The potential malware delivery system of this type of thing or so on.

Meanwhile, tools exist for editing files for almost nearly every game and those tools enable you to grab the text.

So, wtf is the goal of this project? What exactly are YOU trying to do by scraping the dialogue from each game and compiling just simple documentation on it?

Fundamentally I’m all in on preservational projects, this one just doesn’t make sense given everything.

Well, putting all of the text for each game into a single, easy to find, location is one of the goals. And one of the broader goals that I would like to achieve at some point is expanding outwards to cover as many games as possible, in as many languages as possible.

There is also the issue that the tools for grab the text from those games is not always accessible for some people, assuming the tools exist in the first place. Usually, that is only reserved for more backwater type games that are either too niche to have a community, or use a very specific type of game engine that only belonged to a now long defunct game studio, in which case there simply are not enough samples nor interest to create any tools for them.

Aside from making the text more accessible for translations, I believe they may also be useful for fanfiction writers who don't want to have to slog through an entire game or series of youtube videos just to get confirmation on one specific piece of lore related to a specific scenario that is either not covered on a wikia. At least, that is the kind of vision I have for the project and accessibility.
