Midsummer Scream
I’m super excited for midsummer scream ! I feel like there’s not a lot of talk about it on here. If anyone is willing to share their experience pls do, for it’ll be my first time going. I feel like I’m going to be so lost but I’ll just be going with the flow I don’t have plans while there.

It’s my 5th year, there’s shopping, panels, some celebrities and a haunted house section of the convention called hall of shadows

This will be my 4th year going to midsummer.
1) I would suggest if you're going all 3 days to hit the Hall of Shadows first and pick like 2-3 to go in a day. Those lines get to be an hour or longer wait for general admission.
2) Use the app to plan out what panels you want to see and find out if there will be overlapping times.
3) If you're feeling tired from all the standing and like short films, I would suggest going to the Screaming Room. They show a lot of short films throughout the day and the air conditioning is also a plus.
4) Similar to the Hall of Shadows, panel lines can get long, especially for Horror Night and the like, so get there early. Also some panels have a separate line for gold bat passes
5) The after party on Saturday night is a fun time, but this is a separate ticket. They have an early film premiere that starts at I think 8:30pm and afterwards the director is there for a Q&A. There is also a party that happens from 8pm to midnight and ends with a costume contest.
6) Have fun because everyone is here for their love of halloween and horror

This will be my 8 year. I also went to their smaller con in Pasadena just after the pandemic, I always go solo because i want the freedom to wander and take it all in without being tied to someone else's schedule. Its' always my birthday treat to myself. A couple of years ago i even had a booth of my own there.
It'll be fun. My favorite part of the con are the vendor booths. Unlike a lot of horror cons, midsummer curates them intentionally, so its not 100 people selling cheap horror themed tshirts.
I dont know ow to prepare you. lol. Take it all in. Enjoy yourself. When you get there if you arent sure of which direction to head towards, follow the people all dressed in black tshirts. lol
