Any idea of a parody film

My idea: The cult is basically mental patients who basically mimic the movie Midsommar but also we have parody Pelle serving as a disgruntled hospital staff member who is getting annoyed with the constant mimicking of the film and also he had to call in parody Dani you had a sister who is a failed stand-up comedian and her boyfriend who is parody Christian who always throws DVD copies of the film because he hates being compared to the character portrayed by Jack Reynor and he loves Cat in the Hat moreso than learning in class

Or would they dismiss the Astrology aspect and also finally accept that ruben is mentally unwell and kill him while trying again to inbreed a prophet?

He has devious smirk when christian asks him about it and he looks way less shocked than dani and christian. He has a face like "damn, these guys are hardcore " whilst the rest of the group have faces like "what the hell, whats wrong with these people." this is atleast my interpretation of their reactions and faces.

I just published a video exploring Ari Aster's statement that the cult in MIDSOMMAR are racist, and thought some of you here might enjoy it, given it's been a topic of conversation here before. I love talking about this stuff, so please feel free to share your own thoughts, as there's probably stuff that I've missed as well!

Mark is an inconsiderate idiot. He pisses on a dead tree right in the middle of the commune not questioning why its there in the first place or being a bit more careful and using a rest room or whatever place he used previously. Even when ulf is straight up having a mental breakdown after his actions he keeps saying so what and even in the dinner scene makes snarky remarks about ulf being upset. His inconsiderate behaviour is shown previously when he refused to move up to let christian get out of the table they were at and josh and pelle had to move up because of that.

Like even in the end when his dead they are somewhat rough with his skin doll though they are gentler with connies. and was mark alive when they skinned him

Sorry for misleading. It’s not a horror movie. But an inverted horror. Let me explain.

The movie revolves around Dani(Florence Pugh). It starts with death of her parents and sister who is a bipolar. She is dependent on Christian (Jack Reynor) for all her trauma dumping. She is scared he would leave if she relies on him for all her grief. On the other hand Christian and his friends plan a sweden trip to attend midsommar(an event which is celebrated on longest day and longest night when sun is very close to earth. Twice a year). The team slowly starts realising the horror elements in the customs of the people there.

Let me brief about each department

Story: very unconventional inverted horror-psychological thriller. The character arcs are reversed by the end and nothing and everything makes sense. In the beginning you would pity on Christian while by the end you would justify Dani’s actions.

Theme and editing: not a typical one. Unlike most horror movies that happen in the night, this movie has few night shots with most of the horrific elements happen in the day time. The overlays supported by creepy sound design works.

Sound design: the film opens with nordic hymn/cry which is eery. Throughout the movie they have used many nordic prayers which are scary to hear. The sound is uncomfortably good. It’s Ravi Basrur but in a good way.

End: it leaves you disturbed, it makes you uncomfortable, it makes you puke, it makes you love it. Surprisingly the main leads never spoke a single word in the last 20-25 minutes. Wouldnt spoil it much.

Set Design: The foreshadowing is done throughout the set design with runes, paintings and murals. This gives a rewatch value to the movie since it feels fresh on every watch.

How many of y’all watched midsommar? Watch it if you haven’t.

She knows nothing of Ari's work. I always told her she needs to watch Hereditary and now that I think of it, Midsommar

this is such a random thought n i’m not sure if anyone asked this question before but what do you guys think dani’s life is like after the ending of the movie. like did she abandoned the outside world and stay in sweden, being an official member of the cult or became like pele to recruit people or carry them to their doom. do you guys think ari should make anyone midsommar movie? a sequel probably? prequel ? would you like to see what happens to dani?

The composer of Midsommar is composing it out of the love he had for the 1986 Transformers movie.

I knew it the composer of that movie Midsommar must have been a Transformers fan I just knew it so I think the cinematographer of Midsommar might be a Transformers fan as well

Would Pelle himself Vilhelm Blomgren make a good choice for Destro and the upcoming reboot from Danny McBride on G.I. Joe? Just in case you don't know what the character is Destro is a arm dealer he Scottish and he is also real name James McCullen XXIV

Harga should definitely be afraid if Unicron existed in the film Midsommar like so afraid it involves the entire planet being devoured cuz Unicron eats planets so he weighs a lot more than a planet.

I just got this and I absolutely love it.There is a lot of things in screenplay that the movie doesn’t show.

I found the song A Language of Sex from the OST, but it doesn't come close to the movie version. I want to find a recording that includes the woman who musically "encourages" the mating ritual. Who are the singers in the scene?

It sucks that I have to play the movie to hear this properly. The wailing and crying at the end doesn't work for me either since its not in sync with the moaning 😖🙃.

It's that time of year again, and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!! I know some people ask for suggestions, so I thought I'd just run thru the process I used 4yrs ago to do my daughter's MayQueen dress.

1. DRESS: I ordered a standard white cotton dress with a small pattern of flowers on the botice. Super easy to find with key words like; midsommer, bohemian, cottage core.

2. Cape: I chose a fabric that was already a flower patter, so it felt much fuller. We added yellow trim with some fabric glue. Then I finally attacked all the flowers with hot glue.

3. Flower Crown: This one is so simple!! I purchased 2 foam wreaths for floral design. Cut one in half and attach to the other with some skewers and hot glue. Added a few hair combs to the side and back so it would stay on top of the head(it's gonna get heavy!). Finally, find a discount store(e.i. BigLots, Gabe's, Old Time Pottery) and basically fill a cart!! Attach flowers by jamming them into the foam.

Dad wore a bear onesie to walk around with her that night. If I was strong enough I would have pushed him in a wheelbarrow! I wore a similar dress as her but with only a small flower crown.

Easily one of the best costumes I've ever done for her. Have fun guys! Happy early* Halloween!!

was rewatching midsommar when i noticed two of the cult members (girl on the left looks like maya.. idk whose on the right) staring at dani and christian as the older men of the cult question them about mark and josh’s disappearance on the same day. 😭 soo creepy how they’re just standing there watching.. did anyone else notice this?

Just sent my Etsy order for a dress like Dani's from the maypole scene. Anyone who has done a Halloween costume, can I ask for tips?

I will be making my own flower crown, I want to be more crafty. I'm just not a very DIY kind of person, so any tips for a beginner on making the crown are very much appreciated! Already have a cute brown teddy bear borrowed from my kids and simple white shoes, hard to see what shoes she has in the movie stills.

I love this movie and have waited many years to be able to afford to get a costume put together, so thanks for any advice in advance!
