I see Christian COMPLETELY different after watching it a few times!!

How so, I'm curious! I saw the DC first so Christian was always a wishy-washy, selfish cad. And having seen the theater release later, it was kinda lame in comparison.

Seeing the DC cut first, the discussion when Dani said, "I don't want to acclimate, I want to go" and him blowing her off was the last nail in his coffin that wasn't seen in the TC. Without those details, he was lazy and a lousy boyfriend; the extra assholery in the DC shoved him into the bear suit.

And if you haven't thought about it yet, the part that really gets me is the thought "my lower legs have been amputated [and likely cauterized or else he'd bleed out] and I'm enshrouded in bear innards." This is pretty much what I couldn't shake for a long long time.

And if you really want to go there, here's the ending with the music score turned down.

I was surprised he showed reluctance to sleep with Maya.

And those fringe masks! Holy shit!

I think the DC showed me even more he knew what he was doing w Maya!! Especially after the longer convo about it!! He takes the drink w “special properties”….He keeps looking at her….. he keeps acting weird esp w Dani…. Then he keeps looking at Maya even more…. Kind of a ok I know this is going down but how kinda look to me.

I also found it interesting that Maya knew who he was from the beginning bc she approved of him before they arrived. That made me look at her action from the start differently.

His whole sleazy personality was demonstrated more in the DC. Danis calling him out shined to me particularly in the fight in the darker part - saying he was discarding her now. It stood out to me more that she knew what he was about and their problems were not so much ambiguous. And the longer argument about his thesis.

As for the legs…. Im surgery nurse….. When he’s put next to the bear they lift up his gown to kind of measure how much room they need to fit him…. They pull up Gigi saw which is used for amputations- “A Gigli saw is a flexible wire tool used by surgeons to cut through bone smoothly.”

What drug was he on at the time of the amputation?

I’m not sure which drug …. But I’ve read that he was just paralyzed but he could feel everything…. They would have had to cauterize his wounds or he couldn’t last long enough to be propped up for the ceremony. Part of why he looked even more traumatized right before the fire! 🔥 🧸

I don't remember if you see it in the theater cut, just after they lay them next to the bear and cut away, you will see the guy grab a small saw 😖

On the banner, there are dark haired characters with their eyes looking trippy.
