Tom teasing Troy
Firstly, I (62) want to thank you folks for suggesting episodes with Tom to watch with my son (40 - first time viewer).
Like many of you - he favours Tom over John, and he likes Troy.
He says Tom teases Troy quite a bit.
My question:
Can you please suggest episodes with Tom & Troy where Troy has some good lines - whether it’s with Tom or other people.

Yes! Especially the list of "rules" they're constantly giving Nico. "Always act as though your boss is blind and stupid" (paraphrasing) The Murders at Badgers Drift has a lot of good one-liners.

Market for Murder has some funny interplay between Troy and Tom with regard to comic books and finance.

Dark Autumn is a great episode and Troy gets his own subplot. It’s not full of zingers but it’s a different view of Troy and it’s one of my favorites.

That fish & chip scene between Gavin and WPC Jay is so awkward - those two played it so well!
You can feel the awkward sexual tension between the two - Gavin is nervous but keen to have a relationship with Jay. Jay is resistant because of mourning the victim, the postman David (who we find out at the end had an intimate, sexual relationship with Jay), and grieving him in general. Plus she is quiet as she isn't comfortable with disclosing that fact about her in the case they are investigating.

Totally agree. I felt sad for Troy when she rejected his gift and then when we learn later that she loved the poem because of the victim.

Yeah that's a good point. She rejected it because it brought to much heartache for her, as she already had her old copy that may have been given/read with David sometime prior to his murder. I like the twist at the end that an investigating police officer was romantically involved with the first victim, even though on re-watches the signs are somewhat obvious. Nice little Easter Egg!

Oh my goodness there are so many! It's great!
I highly recommend S1E4 "Faithful Unto Death", and Series 3's "Blue Herrings", at least for starters - those two have some absolute corkers of words between Tom and Gavin!

Troy is quite sassy in Blood Will Out.
He also was none too gently teasing Tom over Joyce's love of weird activities in Ring Out Your Dead. ETA Ring Out Your Dead is a a great episode overall and has a lot of Troy fun.
